For sure it ranks in the top ten.

It means more than just the music and sounds. It is the guys jamming in a different direction then most expected, it is (so it seems) exactly where their minds and hands wanted to explore.

Touring an album that the crew made "down the tubes tour" shirts and wondered where their careers were heading - it is one of their milestones in my opinion.

And we would never have heard The Necromancer, otherwise. Pure creative and original fantasy rock!

You might call it a creation that sowed the seeds of 2112.

I'm a filthy 80s lover so unfortunately not. There was one point in time where AFTK was the only 70s album in my top ten. Don't know what I'd rank the albums now, I don't care enough right now to think about that.

It's a heavy metal smorgasbord!

Pretty sure it is. If not it’s hover right around the 10ish spot. It’s not top 5 though.

Either 1 or 2 with me along with Hemispheres.

I think I've probably listened to COS (especially The Necromancer and The Fountain) more than any other album.

Hemispheres

PeW

AFTK

MP

2112

CoS

I thought it may have been higher but MP is always a moving target for me. It suffers from over-exposure but that's not the album's fault

I really like this album. Cannot describe the vibe, but this is a good music to listen in special moments for me

I said 8-10,

But it has a lot of competition for the middle of the catalog and sometimes it won't make it.

It's my favorite of the first four, though. More than 2112.

Between Fly and Caress there is a perfect album, though.

I have remained fascinated, regarding the possible existence of a video for Lakeside Park.  the following appeared in the Caress of Steel tour book: “word has it that the legendary Horseshoe Tavern, in the band's hometown of Toronto, may quite possibly be the site for the filming of a new, promotional video for Lakeside Park".  Anybody here found out any info about this since that tour book came out?

One of the best sounding of any RUSH album, and Alex is on fire on guitar.  I love the album.
