I voted Counterparts, but could just as easily have voted CA. Counterparts has a special place in my heart because I'll always remember the first time I listened to it and thinking to myself "THEY'RE BACK!!!". Ironically my three favorite songs from this era are all on S&A - The Main Monkey Business, The Way the Wind Blows, and Mal Nar - but there are also quite a few songs on S&A that I don't particularly care for.

Alien Shore and Leave That Thing Alone were the last great RUSH songs recorded.
Too bad you've never heard Headlong Flight.

Clockwork Angels is their best album since Grace Under Pressure.  It's really a remarkable accomplishment when you think about how old they were when they recorded it.  I don't think there has been a finer recording made by musicians over the age of 60...ever.  :haz:

Counterparts.A great mixture of songwriting and playing.Alex's guitar really came back on this album. Also this album came out a low ebb in my life and helped me through it.RTB.Despite it being hated so much here i find it an uplifting album and often play it in my car.Presto.If only the production was beefier (but not brickwalled!!!).Thats my top 3

Clockwork Angels... but I have a major soft spot for Presto/RTB/Counterparts

if I had to rank 'em:

1) Clockwork Angels
2) Roll the Bones
3) Counterparts
4) Presto
5) Snakes & Arrows
6) Vapor Trails
7) Test for Echo
8) Feedback

For me its:

1.   Presto - the entire album is basically good & strong.

2.   S & A - very strong through Hope.  Faithless is ok.  Then their are some clunkers but it ends with the good We Hold On.

3.   Counterparts - starts weak, gets ok with Nobodys Hero.  Then it really takes off.  The rest of the album, other than Double Agent & Leave that Thing Alone, is very strong.  Its ends with the tremendous Everyday Glory.

4.   T4E - It has the horrible Virtuality & Dog Years but the rest of the album is decent.

5.   Feedback - its not on the list to chose from but to bad.  This is where I am ranking it - tonight.  Rush covers some very good songs.  Nuff said.

6.   CA - the production stinks.  The album starts poorly & although their are a number of decent song on the 2nd half of the album it not enough to fix the damage from the start of the album.

7,   RTB - It has the great Dreamline & Bravado but not much else.

8.   VT - the remix.  Its better than the original but that the best I can say about it.

9.   VT - the original

Depending on my mood #'s 2 & 3 could switch places.  Also #'s 5, 6 & 7 could switch places.

"Good News First" is a very underrated and emotional song.  I never quite understood why it wasn't more popular among Rush fans.  The line, "time if nothing else will do its worst.." made me love the song.  Think about it: All the people we love, that we hope to hold on to...there are a thousand variables that could screw those up.  But if nothing else, time (death, loss of health..) is working on it, and will do its worst.  One of my favorite lines by Neil.

Presto- Weak sound, good to very great songs. 8/10

Roll The Bones- a couple of misses, and several of their all time greatest songs. 8.5/10

Counterparts- very underrated. Some strange moments, but in a very pleasing way. Contains my least favourite Rush song, but also two of my top ten favourites (actually between this and RTB you have about five of them!). 8/10

Test For Echo- weird and often downright awful. I LOVE THIS ALBUM! 7/10

Vapor Trails- masterpiece. 9.5/10

Snakes and Arrows- great production, interesting songs, but too samey. 6/10

Clockwork Angels- A strangely disappointing affair. Some great songs, many very meh moments. No bad songs. 6/10

I would flip your ratings for VT and Snakes but otherwise spot on.
