  3. The very first CD I bought in the Spring of 1987. I probably haven't listened to it in 30+ years. Social Disease is a great tune, though.

  8. Definitely. Not sure where I'd place Reputation. Which season is best suited to being f***ed off and rebellious?

  10. Another bonus - he was extremely valuable in the locker room. He helped groom younger players and everyone looked up to him. He led by example. Tough son of a gun too.

  11. It's absolutely a summer album. Same as Lover. I prefer her more autumnal/wintery works. Evermore is divine (and overlooked for Folklore, which I love less).

  12. Taylor Swift - Red It’s like 70 degrees out today, feels suspiciously like late spring or summer. I think this works a bit better in this weather, or maybe I do.

  14. I must be a large HOF guy. Not a huge baseball fan but I would have voted for Beltre, Biggio, Rolen, Helton & Mauer. Not certain about Baines though. I actually thing there were some other gutys on the ballot I might have voted for but I can't recall the names right now. But it seems like every year when I see the ballot I am like "I would vote for him and him and him and him. O, yes, and him. Probably him as well. Maybe him as well" Then only a few of the folks get in. Prime example - even though I generally would vote no on the steroid guys - I would have voted for Curt Schilling. Grade A jerk but I would have voted him in.

  18. Last night MacKinnon jumped back ahead of Kucherov in goals by scoring another 4 goals (MacTrick) as AVS beat the Caps 6-2. This the second time he has scored 4 goals in a game in the last two months. If Mac doesn't get seriously considered for the Hart, it will be a shame. Great game!! Also Cale Makar broke the club record for most goals by a defenseman too

  21. Unless it's very different from Rush, I hope they don't play together again. That souffle is past warming up.

  22. The Washington Post switched to this format a few years ago. It is absolutely terrible. It reminds me of the news stories in the movie Starship Troopers. "Do you want to know more?" I'm for whatever you want to do to them.

  23. As a fresh young innocent of 13, way back in 1971, I bought 'Brand New Key' simply because I liked the voice of this 'hippie-chick' by the name of Melanie. The single was a massive hit in the UK and could be heard everywhere. RIP Melanie ..... forever my 'hippie-chick'.

  27. Worked from home again today so, back to the moving box. First out: Molly Hatchet - -Flirtin with Disaster Awesome title track. "Whiskey Man" is a good song as well. The other songs I don't go crazy for however. Likely much better live than on the album. Never got to see them live however so I can't say for 100% certain. They are ok - I guess. But nothin I really go for. Great (like one of my favorite all time) album covers. Next out of the box: Jackson Browne - Hold Out I enjoy "Boulevard" but the rest of the album is forgettable for me. Next out of the box: Jethro Tull - Original Masters A Tull greatest hits album. I will enjoy some Tull now and then. Saw them live in the 1990's - decent show. Good album. Next out of the box: AC DC - Back in Black Not a big ACDC fan but this is an album I never skip a song on. The title track, "Hells Bells" & "You Shook Me All Night Long" are the best songs but everything is worth listening to. Good album. Last out of the box: Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet A disappointing album IMO. Its has 4 songs that got airplay, "Never Say Goodbye", "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Livin' On A Prayer" & "Wanted Dead or Alive". For me however, "Never Say Goodbye" is a dud. "You Give Love A Bad Name" is good & I still enjoy it. The other 2 hits ("Livin On A Prayer" & "Wanted Dead Or Alive") are still awesome. What make the album so disappointing is that after those songs the quality falls way, way off (IMO). You have 3 very good songs (2 or which are excellent) and then everything else is a dud. Big drop in quality. Thought that at the time and still think so. With 3 very strong songs you would expect / hope for some good deep cuts - but their are none.

  29. Zero songs I skip on any album from Kings through Power Windows but Power Windows is my favorite album so by default I'll say my favorite five-album run is Permanent Waves through Power Windows. but no wrong answers with any combination of five from that seven-album period.

  31. A view like this is probably represented to Rush fans under the average age of a typical Rush fan. But those of us fans since the 70s, which could be you I don't know, understand the impact Zeppelin had on Rush, especially Alex. But I do appreciate your bravado posting this here. BTW the hint was the bow, the bow is legendary

  32. I'd go see whatever they did but for me personally, it wouldn't sit well if they called themselves "Rush" with no Neil, and ultimately I think they wouldn't do that. My guess is that what ends up happening is Geddy makes a solo album, Alex plays guitar on some of the songs, Geddy does a solo tour where he plays a mix of his solo stuff and Rush, and Alex comes out for a few shows. I can't see Alex wanting to do a full tour.
