I like both so there's no choosing.

Joe Walsh gave his Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar to Jimmy Page (which was probably used on Led Zeppelin II and beyond) and then Walsh gave a bright orange '57 Gretsch Chet Akins model guitar paired with a '59 Fender Bandmaster amp to Pete Townshend, which was the sound on Who's Next.

Fantastic trivia!

I'm not big on either album (IV is way to overplayed and the Who has never grabbed me whatsoever)

But i'll go IV.

and IV-when The Levee Breaks

Who's Next-Uh......um... Bargain.....i guess.

IV has never been my favourite Zep, and I can't be alone with feeling a little weary at the thought of listening to it again. But I haven't listened to Who's Next, except the fantastic Baba O'Riley... so IV and that, if pushed.

i knew every song on IV before ever owning it. So overplayed here. and i honestly never need to hear IV ever again.

may seem harsh but i'm not lyin' lol

I'm going with The Who. That Zeppelin album is great but I like Baba O'Reilly, Behind Blue Eyes and Won't Get Fooled Again better than anything on IV.

Since I wasn't born until 1978, I never thought about the fact that both of these albums were released the same year. Must have been a great time to be a living, breathing rock fan.

I must be a poser, cuz I can’t find it in me to vote against LZ IV, and my favorite song there truly is Stairway To Heaven.

Who’s Next is an awesome album though. Just has a smidge of filler.

It's hard for me because there's not a bad song on Who's Next, but I have come, this past year, to have a tremendous appreciation and respect for Led Zep, a band that back then was so taken for granted by me

We were spoiled by a host of ace musicians coming at us one after the other. Only today am I able to realize how talented they were and just how fortunate we all are.

So I have to listen to IV again today before I vote.

Went with The Who but almost went with IV on account of The Battle of Evermore and Stairway.

Fave song is a tough one on an album of different degrees of great songs.

It was between Behind Blue Eyes and Won't Get Fooled Again and i went with the latter because I will never forget that moment, when I saw them in 1975, at the end of the song when Peter did a somersault with his guitar across the stage.

I wonder if he can still do that? :D ;)

Led Zeppelin IV. "When the Levee Breaks." Some good tracks on Who's Next, but if I were on a desert island, the variety of the tracks I like on IV wins the day.

Exactly.

Levee, Evermore, Black Dog and Four Sticks do it for me.

Absolutely love Who’s Next...but I still prefer IV overall.

Tough choice.

Album: Who's Next

Track: Four Sticks

I played the hell out of both albums but Who's Next edged out IV by a nose. Who's Next brings out more emotions in me ( Bargain, This Song is Over, Love Ain't For Keeping ).

Four Sticks kicks ass, period.

Even us generic Led Zeppelin fans have their humongous All The Songs book it seems. lol

Tough decision, as both albums have a song that I've heard on the radio a billion times too many.

I may be leaning towards Led Zeppelin, if only by a whisker.... :o

It's Who's Next for me, by just a hair though. Both are treasures, but I spent a fun summer back in the day when I listened to LOTS of Who's Next. It wins on sentimental favorite.

Some of the Who's best lyrics, I think, in Won't Get Fooled Again and Behind Blue Eyes. I also love me some Black Dog, Evermore, and Going to California, though, so it was a hard one for me.
