As lame as it is, I bought a virtual ticket for Devin Townsend's Halloween show tomorrow. I'm stuck in Quarantine so I really have nothing better to do. Might as well listen to heavy metal.

It's not lame. It's all we have!

So it appears that Styx at the Balloon Fest is ON for later July, postponed from last year. Second row (slumming it, lol).

Definitely starting to feel better about things but can't run amok with this.

Jordan Rudess

Neal Morse Band

Passed on King Crimson, Roger Waters and Lindsay Buckingham because I'm done with Ticketbastard/Jive Nation.

Effing axs.scum is handling sales for venue King Crimson is playing, and the site is a

giant clusterfuck. Spent two hours figuring out the "seating chart" (lawn seats and 4 seat "pods" close to stage). Lawn seats suck, and they're pushing buying a "pod" of seats. Pricks.

Just got tickets for

Primus / The Sword / Battles / Black Mountain in Cleveland, Ohio on September 16, 2021

Elton John in Pittsburgh, PA on September 16, 2022

I caught Primus 3 years ago in Baltimore and they were really really good. They were supporting their album the desaturating 7. They did the whole album live and it had a serious caress of steel vibe.

Apparently it's still on. I'm interested in it just for the novelty of it.

Laura, for me, I would answer this question. No, I wasn't planning of going to the "38th Annual New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning" in New Jersey to see Styx perform on Sun. July 25.

How was the big rock show?

http://anewscafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/styx.jpg

They were great, we were so thrilled to be there. Most of the crowd were not huge fans, but there was a little section of us up at the front so we made up for the rest of them. it looked like it was sold out though and there was also people on the field in the back. And when they got to the big hits at the end everyone else got into it.

They played a few of their new songs which of course brought silence for most people but we knew them and sang along. Sounded great.

Will Evankovich from The Guess Who is now with them officially. He's really good and brings a new energy. Though of course Gowan has enough energy for all of us LOL.

It was super hot though, wow. When the sun came out it was brutal. I don't know how those guys did it up there on stage with long pants and long sleeves and jackets.

JY was a bit subdued. And poor Chuckie isn't moving well at all, but you gotta give him credit for coming out on such a hot day.

August 14th i'll be watching country band Andreas Carlsson & The Moonshine Band. Their drummer is a huge Rush fan btw.

August 28th i'll be attending a festival to watch funk band Mantello and blues rock Slap Back Joe

Actually, Slap Back Joe's drummer is also a huge Rush fan. Not sure if the members of Mantello are Rush fans, but the drummer's father is a guitarist in one of Sweden's oldest heavy metal band, Destiny.

September 3rd it'll be Europe's best AC/DC cover band Angus. One of their guitarists is also the lead singer of progressive rock band Wonderland, and those are all Rush fans!

October 1st it'll be blues rock band Groznyj

Seeing Kansas in late November, we got 7 rows back on the very left end seats. This will be part of their Point Of Know Return 40th anniversary tour which will go on into 2022 (by the time they're done with it itll be time for the 50th anniversary tour!). With the recent departure of Zak Rizvi, I wanted to see them as soon as possible before there are any other lineup changes made.

I may see them again next year or the year after just to see a show with a normal setlist, and hopefully see some songs from Absence Of Presence live, an absolutely stupendous album.

I have tickets for A Day To Remember with Asking Alexandria and Point North opening. I'm also planning on catching a few state fair shows, including Blue Oyster Cult and Ratt.
