  1. I'm glad this is settled for the town and the area. What a horrific experience for them- I hope some kind of healing can begin.

  2. Another horrible atrocity. I feel so sorry for the communities affected. It's a pity this f*cker didn't just top himself first to save all this heartbreak.

  3. I just re-read the lyrics and...beyond that line, they're just not good. But it's amazing how how Geddy can sell a song. His voice in that era - Presto through T4E - was fantastic.

  9. LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — A man suspected of fatally shooting 18 people and wounding 13 in Maine has been found dead, authorities said Friday. Robert Card, who was wanted in connection with the shootings at Schemengees Bar and Grille and at Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley in Lewiston, is believed to have died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, a law enforcement official tells The Associated Press. The official was not authorized to discuss details of the investigation publicly and spoke to The AP on condition of anonymity. A 10 p.m. news conference was scheduled by police.

  10. T4E was a killer tour, the best I've seen of theirs. And I love the drumming video Neil put out for it, A Work In Progress. I actually enjoy every T4E song in that context.

  11. This is Dream Theater announcing their retirement without Dream Theater announcing their retirement. Was a lot more shocked a few days ago than I was in 2010. Don't much care about this one way or the other. Whatever works. Feel bad for Mangini (one of the good people.) I was surprised when Charlie got fired, but understood after hearing him live. I was gutted when Kevin Moore left, but understood after hearing Chroma Key. I was over the moon when Derek got dumped and Jordan joined the band. Mike Mangini was the right drummer for the band in 2010 even though I'd have preferred Marco. I'm hoping for something ground breaking but I probably shouldn't be. I doubt there's going to be a paradigm shift at this point. Portnoy probably adds another $50 to my next Dream Theater ticket. If they venture out of their comfort zone, it will be totally worth it.

  12. With Rush's "Test For Echo Tour" being their first without an opening, and a backup band, group, and artist, maybe, it's one reason why "Geddy", "Alex", and "Neil" sounded so well, and looked tight as ever. On, and from "Counterparts", "Snakes & Arrows", and "Clockwork Angels", I've had "the Speed of Love", "Bravest Face", and "Halo Effect" as their lowest songs. "You Bet Your Life", is bottom ten on my list. If anyone hasn't been following, so far, here is Goose (Allen)'s list. 156. Bravest Face, song #10/13, "Snakes & Arrows (2007)" 157. Halo Effect, song #6/12, "Clockwork Angels (2012)" 158. Wish Them Well, song #11/12, "Clockwork Angels (2012)" 159. Carve Away the Stone, song #11/11, "Test For Echo (1996)" 160. You Bet Your Life, song #10/10, "Roll the Bones (1991)" 161. Everyday Glory, song #11/11, "Counterparts (1993)" 162. Virtuality, song #8/11, "Test For Echo (1996)" 163. the Color of Right, song #4/11, "Test For Echo (1996)" 164. the Speed of Love, song #7/11, "Counterparts (1993)" 165. Madrigal, song #5/6, "A Farewell to Kings (1977)"

  13. Of your bottom 10, only Bravest Face is in my bottom ten. That's not a good song. Madrigal is in my bottom 11, and Speed of Love is in my bottom 13, though, so that's pretty close for them. I like all of those other bottom 10 songs, although Virtuality, Halo Effect, Wish Them Well, and Everyday Glory do not make my top 90. You Bet Your Life I have at 80, but the absolutely silly moments in that song for some stupid reason appeal to me. I guess they appealed to the band as well. But I get the dislike, or even downright disdain, others have. It may be lyrically weak, but not like Need Some Love, which you don't have listed. In fairness to that, I guess, is that first album can NEVER be accused of failing to rock. Which is a fair concern for some of that 90's Rush. Carve Away the Stone is a good song, though. I have it 60th. It's a bit of a saccharine sedative, I suppose- but not like Tears, which you don't have listed. At least you haven't hurt any of my top 40 songs yet! Keep them coming, I'm really curious when you'll hurt something I really love :)

  16. Dream Theater- A View From The Top Of The World I'm honestly starting to regard this album as something of a masterpiece! By far my favourite production of any DT release, and two years on I enjoy it even more than when it came out!

  18. If it was about Coach Jozef Bleaux of Podunk Valley State University, this would be a nothing burger. But the mere mention of "Harbaugh" or "Riley" or "Ryan", and it's on, and I could give a rat' ass.

  21. Fleetwood Mac- Rumours People call Taylor Swift petty. Go back to the seventies, her whining and pining was part of the norm haha. Still, this album is a major fave of mine, and it takes on new meaning the older I get. Pearl Jam- Ten I played the original version for the first time in ages. I am shocked to say this, I have loved this album for nearly two decades, but I feel the Redux version is my new standard go to! Wow, this really sounded flat after months of listening to the remix version. Still, I adore this record and I had a great time with it.

  36. Reading her at first almost daily and later more and more infrequent notes on how the disease took it's toll on our Lorraine was painful. I can't even think of how excruciating the whole thing was for her. Every time I see sunflowers I think of Lorraine and bless her in my heart.
