Definitely Airplane! and This is Spinal Tap. Start yet another thread for either movie and watch everyone go nuts quoting lines from it. People can't resist quoting those two movies, and there's hundreds of great lines to quote.

After those two, personal favorites of mine include:

Meatballs

Office Space

The Breakfast Club

When Harry Met Sally

City Slickers

Parenthood

Selected Woody Allen films, circa 1969-1989

Good call with Meatballs! That one always seems to fly under the radar.

For me, I suppose it has to be:

Star Wars (all versions) - "I have a bad feeling about this"

Lethal Weapon - "I'm getting too old for this shit"

Raiders of the Lost Ark - "Its not the years, its the mileage"

Serenity - "Shiny"

Planet of the Apes - "Its a madhouse!"

maybe not the best quotes of all time but they're good for most occasions

1. Almost Heroes - I know this is sort of an obscure one, but my son and I LOVE this movie and we quote it all the time. "The bear's definitely worse! The bear's definitely worse!!!"

2. Dumb and Dumber

3. The Blues Brothers

4. Kill Bill

5. Office Space

Honorable mention: Animal House

Airplane! (as most of us acknowledge)

the 3 Indiana Jones movies

the 6 Star Wars movies (yeah, technically that's 9... so sue me)

Murder By Death

Dogma

Isn't it funny how each family has its own shorthand or code based on movies/TV? In our house for example, all anyone has to do is say one word or make one gesture and the rest of us start quoting. laugh.gif
