  1. How 'bout Maiden--by second favorite band after 'The Boys'. 1. Number Of The Beast 2. Piece Of Mind 3. Seventh Son 4. Powerslave 5. Killers 6. Somewhere In Time 7. Iron Maiden 8. Brave New World 9. The Final Frontier 10. Senjutsu 11. Book Of Souls 12. Dance Of Death (their 2nd most underrated album) 13. No Prayer For The Dying (their most underrated album) 14. A Matter Of Life And Death 15. Fear Of The Dark 16. X Factor 17. Virtual XI (EASILY their worst)
  2. I personally rank ADKOT above these Sammy albums, but I don't do this lightly. I definitely like 5150 better. Hell, I think 5150 rivals the classic Roth Era albums.
  3. I actually consider Dynasty to be the last true KISS Klassic. Most think of the debut through Love Gun as their classic run, but Dynasty is just as good if not better than a couple of the first six albums in my book.
  4. I saw that ranking. Creatures is vastly overrated as it is by many critics. IMO, It's the weakest of their 4-album 'metal' run: Creatures, Lick It Up, Animalize and Asylum. I like the direction they went in, but the songs are forgettable aside from the title track, I Love It Loud and War Machine. I would easily have it closer to the bottom of a KISS ranking.
  5. I dig The Elder. I rank it somewhere around 10 in a KISS album ranking .
  6. Can I play with my dick. The prophet stared at my crystal balls.
  7. A lot of great posts on here. Some 'cool' voices that aren't technically great: Lemmy Kilmeister Ace Frehley Anthony Keidis
  8. I LOVE YOU GEDDY!!! I MISS AND LOVE ALL OF YOU BOYS! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIRK!
  9. I dig this album. It's more organic than the last few albums, which isn't necessarily good or bad. It's got some cool riffs and some atmosphere about it IMO. Kirk has definitely gotten too complacent with contributing meaningful, memorable solos though. And does anyone buy Lars being able to pull off of these double bass drums anymore? He's got some major sampling going on in the live shows. 72S is a worthy buy but everything they do will always pale in comparison to their first four albums.
  10. In no order and leaving out 50 other albums... VH, Fair Warning Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell Ozzy, The Blizzard of Oz Rush, Moving Pictures Iron Maiden, Number Of The Beast Metallica, Master Of Puppets Slayer, Reign In Blood Megadeth, Peace Sells Anthrax, Among The Living Danzig I
  11. I'm a complete minority with my opinion of Dystopia. It is my least favorite Megadeth album--I know! IMO there are a lot of uninspired re-tread riffs and Dave's vocals and vocal production pretty much ruin it for me. The two positive takeaways I have is the laser-sharp aggressive approach to the song writing (although they are boring) and Kiko absolutely slays. I have always considered Mustaine a musical genius and prolific song writer. He is very thoughtful, innovative, and often ironic with his melodies and riffs. Even Super Colider has a few tracks like to return to but I just can't get into Dystopia and I tried numerous times. My favorite 'Deth album is Peace Sells so I definitely like the heavier side of the band--and I like what I've heard from the new album. At least Dave's voice isn't doubled up and totally monotone. And the riffs are a little less predictable. I'll definitely buy this to keep my Megadeth collection complete.
  12. 1. Iron Maiden 2. Slayer 3. Metallica 4. Black Sabbath 5. Exodus 6. Mastodon 7. Judas Priest 8. Megadeth 9. Pantera 10. Motorhead
  13. The new album is a sleeper, meaning the songs take a while to set in then set their hooks in you. It's hard to rank this one so early, but I think it's going to have staying power. Song for song, the choruses might be better than any of the other 2000s Era Maiden albums. Here goes: 1. Brave New World 2. The Final Frontier 3. Book Of Souls 4. Senjustsu 5. Dance Of Death (their second most under-rated album after NPFTD) 6. A Matter Of Life And Death (their most over-rated album, IMO. People too caught up in the killer album cover) Senjutsu might turn out to be #1 or 2 eventually. :haz:
  14. Nobody is better than Roth Era VH. There are bands that are as good though, but not better. I don't put Steely D in that category.
  15. Great review of Killers with several insights into the songs I wasn't aware of. Killers is killer. I never flinch when someone says this is their favorite Maiden album because I understand why. I started listening to Maiden seriously once Powerslave was released so I have always been a huge Dickinson fan, but this album rivals anything they did with Bruce. It's Maiden's darkest and heaviest release and Dianno is perfect on it. It doesn't have as many anthems as the debut, but the performance and production on Killers are much better with songs that are better fleshed out. Up The Irons! :haz:
  16. Mick Mars. How dare you leave MM out of the poll. Mick F**king Mars. :haz:
  17. It's always The Hallowed 5 (circa '76-81): 1. Moving Pictures 2. Hemispheres 3. 2112 4. Permanent Waves 5. A Farewell To Kings Five most listened to/appreciated in the last year: Power Windows Hold Your Fire Signals Grace Under Pressure Clockwork Angels
  18. 1. Caddy Shack 2. The Big Lebowski 3. Step Brothers 4. This Is Spinal Tap 5-10 in loose order: The Life Aquatic Tropic Thunder Brides Maids Anchor Man Fast Times At Richmond High This Is The End
  19. 1. La Villa Strangiato 2. 2112 3. Hemispheres 4. Natural Science 5. The Camera Eye 6. By-Tor and The Snow Dog 7. Cygnus-X1 8. Xanadu 9. The Fountain Of Lamneth 10. The Necromancer That was hard; they are all classics. Let's face it though, the bottom two needed a lot more fleshing out before recording them. They recorded COS in two weeks.
  20. Tai Shan sucks total ass. Along with High Water and Second Nature, Tai Shan all but ruined HYF.
  21. I love all four of versions of these bands, but Roth Era and Ozzy Era are unstoppable, unbelievable and undeniable; brilliant phenomena that will never be attained again. Like Rush.
  22. I don't get on this board enough anymore so I just saw this. There are a lot of RIP threads...it's been a rough year (obviously). RIP Eddie Haskell.
  23. Except this is about gross and not quality alone. It made around $23 million in 1980 dollars so it should be inflated by 30-40 million dollar for the present. Great movie, don’t get me wrong. Marty’s most successful non DiCaprio movies are Cape Fear, Casino Goodfellas and Hugo although the latter lost a lot of money for Paramount and had a high multiplier from opening week due to the holidays and Oscar buzz. Goodfellas did the same thing since it was released in September and topped at $46 million after Pesci won the Oscar. He did Cape Fear so it could make money for Universal as a favor for distributing Last Temptation Of Christ because of its controversy. Good post. I didn't think about gross, only quality. I didn't know that's why Marty did Cape Fear!
  24. I like Ace's solo album better than some of the 70's KISS albums--and that's saying a lot!
  25. Great poll but Raging Bull should have totally been on here.
