  1. Haven't been here in ages, figured I should drop by after I heard the news. Spent so much of my high school years here. It's cool to come back and see so many familiar usernames, even though the circumstances are so awful.
  2. Just going to leave this here - in case you check back in. <3
  3. For a LTIR cap space mule! YES!!!! It's actually not the worst move in the world. It's a wonderful move, at least from Toronto's perspective. Addition by subtraction. David Clarkson was more or less the definition of a "negative asset", contributing next to nothing on the ice (and being a drain by some measures) while carrying a brutal cap hit. Getting rid of arguably the worst contract in the NHL without retaining any salary is a better outcome than anyone could've hoped for. The only impact on the Leafs is in real dollars, and MLSE is clearly too rich to care about a few burned millions (or else they would've canned Nonis a long time ago). This might actually be the best thing to happen to the Leafs since they went up 4-1 on the Bruins. If Horton is finished as a player (and it sure sounds like it) hopefully his back issues clear up enough to let him live a comfortable life. The reports out of Columbus didn't sound good at all.
  4. HEY GUYS CLARKSON GOT TRADED http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lt548aDWrh1qal153.gif
  5. Woah! Thanks guys! Between work and my band I've been too busy to come here regularly anymore, but I definitely miss this place sometimes. Many belated thanks for the birthday wishes. :)
  6. If boneheaded penalties were goals, David Clarkson would almost be worth his contract. 1-0 Bruins...
  7. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here, and IMO this isn't necessarily the best approach. I'd recommend figuring out exactly what your needs are in a guitar (single coil vs. humbucker, trem vs. hardtail, hollowbody vs. solid, etc.) and just keep hitting up music stores until that perfect guitar (the one that meets those needs within your budget and just "feels right" when you play it) comes along. Keep an open mind about models- they really aren't important, especially in the styles you seem to be going for. Besides, there's so many variations of those models that the difference between one Jag and another might be greater than the difference between a Jag and a Jazzmaster. It really isn't a question you can answer until you have the guitars in your hands.
  8. The crazy thing is that they dumped a far better player in Seguin because of his supposed off-ice immaturity. Lucic acts like a baby on ice, in-game, and the team and press always seem to have his back. I honestly think Boston's love affair with Lucic is going to cost them a potential dynasty, if it hasn't already.
  9. Chris Pronger has been hired by the Department of Player Safety, because apparently the league understands neither irony nor conflict of interest.
  10. I hate the idea of expansion but yeah, it seems pretty much inevitable. The expansion fees are just too tantalizing for the league. And if they have trouble selling hockey in the desert (that's never been a problem before, right?) they can just demand that the players make up the difference in the next CBA. A Seattle franchise would be cool (and a second Toronto-area team is a no-brainer) but I'd rather see them relocate one of the financially hopeless teams before considering expansion.
  11. Thanks for the kind words :) Man, we actually ended up playing a last-minute show in Phoenix during the July trip. The southwest was awesome so hopefully we can come back sometime soon. Our finances are pretty much shot right now though, so we're working on writing for the next little while. Can't promise a full album but we're hoping to record an EP at the very least. Thanks again for listening!

  13. The Spezza acquisition was awesome, but I'm really excited about the Hemsky signing. He was sort of buried in irrelevance in Edmonton, but when he moved to Ottawa and played with Michalek and Spezza, he really got a chance to get out and play. He's such a good one-on-one player, and it'll help the Stars - a team who struggled often on zone entries and exits. I'm excited. Yeah, Hemsky's great. Wish the Canucks had brought him in at some point in the last few years, but as far as I know they didn't even bother trying to get him (or Gaborik, or Vanek, or Spezza, or Seguin, or any of the other talented scorers who've been moved for cheap in the last year or so). Maddening.
  14. I'm eternally grateful to Dale Tallon for saving Dave Nonis from himself and giving Dave Bolland a marginally more insane deal than what the Leafs offered. The Robidas deal is risky as hell for a 37-year-old, but if he stays healthy he'll almost certainly improve the blueline for now. Replacing Kulemin and Raymond with Komarov and Frattin, though...eesh. I don't get the Ryan Miller deal. Sure, there's questions about Lack as a starter, but wouldn't it make more sense to throw a one-year deal at a less-overrated goalie and find out what they have in Lack and Markstrom? It's an unnecessary commitment and given Miller's Blues stint, he isn't really any more of a sure thing than Lack at this point. The Stars have to be getting pretty close to "contender" status now, no?
  15. Sabres are going all-in on McDavid
