It's Texas, what would you expect from such a backward state?

What great state do you reside in?

It’s not Netflix’s support of child exploitation or the mutilation of children which drives you away, but the fact that they advertise on a company owned by Musk, who cracks down on sexual slavery and authoritarianism and is a staunch supporter of Israel against antisemitism, which makes you leave.  I’m glad you’re leaving Netflix, but your priorities are disgusting.

Not everyone sees Musk in the same light, his so-called belief in free speech has turned X into a cesspool of racism and antisemitism is rampant there.  He also has been sabotaging Starlink connections in Ukraine among other questionable actions.

A state that is run by leftists who are trying to tax us into oblivion all while passing new gun laws that will have no effect on crime, Washington. But that has nothing to do with how Texas lawmakers are running that state.

I sense the sarcasm. The thing of it is, people are willing to put up with certain things by their government if they can afford to live there. A lot of the people moving to Texas left California because their paycheck wasn't going as far as it had.

Though it's a big part of the equation, I think you know that it's not just economics that is behind the Exodus of Californians to Texas, and to Nevada, Idaho, Montana,  Florida.  It's also culture and politics.

Washington, almost half the counties want to secede to Idaho?

Same with eastern Oregon. Like many states with a larger city or 2 that runs the state, eastern Washingtonians claim the Seattle "elites" don't represent them, and as far as sheer numbers go they're right. But as I recall there are many many hoops to jump through to actually be able to secede and it will never happen.

Oregon is a bit of a dump, though. YEAH I know that is a rude thing to say, but the problem with lack of tax revenue is, less good things for the public.

Gee that sounds like Utah, the liberals in Salt Lake County are now muzzled by the rest of the rural population by the last redistricting.  Going from a majority to a super majority makes any change almost impossible now they cut the county into 4 parts with rural areas attached to them.  It's a mess.

While it is true that Mush doesn’t believe in completely free speech, he certainly believes in it more than any other owner of social media.  It’s possible that more people say stupid stuff than before on X, it’s also true that obviously correct statements like “women are women” are no longer banned, completely normal non-leftist speech is not prohibited, advocacy for sexual slavery and child pornography is not allowed, and foreign bots are minimized.  I also find it funny that you mention anti-semitism, which is promoted and defended by not only social media, but establishment media, democrats in general, and the people running most universities.  When anti-Semitic attacks are increasing by orders of magnitude across the west, it’s odd to call out the increase of leftist violent rhetoric on X when it was rarely suppressed there in the past and when the leftists are pushing it so strongly in all other areas of public discourse.

On top of this, Netflix promotes child sexual exploitation, discrimination, and the dehumanization of the other, yet it is their advertisements on the only major social media company which fights against these things which makes someone want to stop subscribing?

A rather large pet peeve of mine erupted today!

Grocery store morons....driving the wrong way down a one-way lane in the parking lot, entering through the EXIT doors while I'm exiting.....

Where's that Infinity Gauntlet when I need one?!!   :rage:

The potential of skin cancer.

Pale guy here, blond hair, blue eyes, long history of sun burns, and this month the pre-nomas came for me.  The good news is it's very early so my treatment was the chemo cream treatment over my whole face (not the eyelids) for a week. Anybody else have to do that? My god, it was awful. The treatment was over last Sunday, and I still look like I'm badly sunburned -- yesterday at work a colleague asked me from about thirty feet away if I'd been skiing! I look like a beet! At least things are feeling better; for about five days there, it hurt to smile, sneeze, sleep, or open my mouth wide enough to eat; it had to be pizza instead of burgers.

I realize these are good problems to have and I'm lucky to have medical care, and it didn't exactly piss me off, but it has been massively unpleasant. I did learn the wonders of liberal vaseline application, though.

For the last several years, I've been good about sunscreen and hats with wide brims, but I can't change my history. I do plan on buying a sombrero, though, so I already feel bad for the guy sitting behind me on Opening Day.

My dermo says I shouldn't have to do it again for 1-3 years. :fistscrying:

I had some melanoma removed a couple of years ago from my abdominal area.  Based on what you just went through, it sounds like I got off easy with just a quick slash-slash of the knife.
