  2. "I'm looking for a larger 3-row crossover" That's a VAN. You're looking for a MINIVAN, buy one of those, quit pretending.

  3. Well she had to add credits to her albums for Taylor Swift, Miles Cyrus and others. She's talented, she just os young and has a lot of fun writing songs a little *too close* to her faves. She's got potential to eclipse everyone one day, especially if she sticks to her rock elements

  6. There is wearing your influences, and then there is having to retroactively add songwriters to your credits because you blatantly "borrowed" and got caught out. I'd like to see ver come into her own more the next go around, or be honest from the get go.

  7. I've read "Stephen King" "the Bill Hodges Trilogy" in "Mr. Mercedes", "Finder's Keepers", and "End of Watch", and "Dean Koontz" "Jane Hawk Series" in "the Silent Corner", "the Whispering Room", "the Crooked Staircase", "the Forbidden Door", and "the Night Window" before.

  8. Olivia Rodrigo-GUTS (10/10) Say what you will that she proudly wears her influences. she's still to me one of the most refreshing pop artists in ages. Mick

  9. Always fitting the music, never gratuitous. "I don't like the Dregs because they don't have a singer!". That's because they have a musical vocabulary beyond the realm of your understanding. I think I need a musical .brain cleansing. Time for a deep dive into some Dregs and Morse.

  10. True and that could be said for a lot of companies.

  11. Posted data from the CDC website is why I stopped getting vaccinated. The COVID risk groups have been pretty well delineated for some time (confirming what was initially reported from China) and I don't fall into any of them.

  15. I just read an article in Jalopnik about his win at the Daytona 500 in '83. He wrecked his car during qualifying while setting a speed record of over 200 mph. He won the race in a borrowed display car with his engine in it. I remember watching the whole thing. Wild.

  16. NASCAR stock car driver Cale Yarborough passes away at 84 "after a long illness". Cale is best known for his fist fight with driver Donnie Allison after the finish of the 1979 Daytona 500. The fight, a postscript to CBS' first "flag to flag" live broadcast of an automobile race, cemented its niche in sports media. RIP Cale. https://www.cbssports.com/nascar/news/cale-yarborough-nascar-legend-and-hall-of-famer-dies-at-84/

  17. I worked at our public library for a long time, and there was an older patron that liked to take out Dean Koontz books. He finally told me, "I like to read them, Mr. Koontz was my English teacher in high school!" It's true, when Koontz first graduated college, he taught in a town near us for a while. I don't think he's been back lately though!

  18. I'm 6'1". I weighed about 175-177 before all this. I was wanting to lose perhaps 3 lbs but had not been successful. I got down to 157-158, looking like a skeleton. I'm up to about 160 now. Another 5-10 pounds will be good. After that I can stop force-feeding myself. Tricky to gain weight when you're exercising and eating very healthy. I can't just throw cheeseburgers and chocolate at it.

  20. I'm a staunchly pro-vaccine guy I'm also going to spend the rest of my days wondering if my last vaccines 6/7 weeks ago had something to do with all this shit I've been dealing with

  21. No Mahomes this weekend, which is smart. Hopefully Pacheco gets a lot if rest as well. Kelce is 16yds short of 1K, so he'll likely play enough so that milestone is passed. Players have incentives to meet, so that's a factor. Pick the Chargers if you're betting.

  23. Counting Crows - August And Everything After I don’t think I’ve intentionally listened to this band since I started high school, I usually find them just very whiny and depressing… well today this was incredibly meaningful and soothing. Florence + The Machine - High As Hope This was my album of the year in 2018 when it came out. It was sad and powerful and somehow helped with the depression I felt that summer on a construction site every day… today it just made me angry. Needed to get away from it but I let it play out to the end. Journey - Frontiers I needed to hear Separate Ways. About 70% of the rest was also soothing and reaffirming, and a couple tracks towards the end are still just fluff. Not their best record, but you can’t top the highs.

  24. That might be my favorite track from Southern Steel. Morse is in my top-5, and I've been a fan since The Dregs' Unsung Heroes album. I could listen to him shredding it up all day long, but I'm more drawn to his melodic songs. Vista Grande is a good example, along with these.

  25. Yesterday: REO Speedwagon - Hi InFidelity Green Day - Nimrod Muse - Drones No albums yet today, but at some point I’ll get there. Also, to anyone who cares… I know I’ve been a lot less active on here lately. I got into and out of my first relationship over the last three months. Spending time on much else has been really difficult. But I am still alive and still listening to music all the time and I still care about my friends here.

  29. I got the hard copy for attending the gig and I also acquired the audible version. As Rhyta says, the combination of listening to Geddy's great narration, and seeing the pictures in the book, makes it a real immersive experience!

  32. Apparently Green Day proves Kurt Cobain’s chorus to In Bloom right and it’s far from the first time. He proved them right 20 years later with AMERICAN IDIOT.
