Principled Man Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Apple is banned from importing or selling its latest Apple Watches (The Washington Post) Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small, unregarded yellow sun. Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-eight million miles is an utterly insignificant, little blue-green planet, whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea. This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn’t the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy. And so the problem remained; lots of the people were mean, and most of them were miserable, even the ones with digital watches. -- Douglas Adams 1

BigMontanaSKY Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 I laughed this morning because I realized I was tasked with assisting handicapped individuals at my last occupation, but didn't really see it that way until now. I usually am the anti hero at work, so this way a nice thing to think about.................. 1
Principled Man Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 Just knowing that the Jets and you-know-who won't be coming to Lambeau Field next year...... 1

BastillePark Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 (edited) I like a fair amount of Ted's music but he should stick to just doing that instead of embarrassing himself. Even in Texas a chili cook-off won't be that well attended. Edited January 10, 2024 by BastillePark 1 1

Even in Texas a chili cook-off won't that well attended. Money talks, BS walks as they say! I am not familiar with a lot of Swift's work except the early stuff, but she works incredibly hard. Somehow she has figured out how to sell tons of music and shows in a times when most music sales are slow, it's admirable. Ted's gonna Ted, but it's kind of old these days. Although when I worked at a library his "Kill It and Grill It" cookbook was very popular 5
