Today's Sun-Sentinel in a daily article "Sports In Brief", gathered from various "news sources":

" Lions rework QB Stafford's contract".  Doh.

Spent the last two days on a paint job doing prep work like scraping and brushing worn siding, crawling under eaves, humping ladders.  I had to laugh at how glad I was that it wasn't my full time job.

What a project that is!

A few years back I attempted to scrape and re-paint our very old wood sided house. Built my own scaffolding for the two stories, heat gun with water hose close by, canister mask and gloves, heavy bags of leaded paint scrapings, it took weeks to do two sides until the wood became so bad it was mostly marine epoxy filling before priming. I gave up. We went with vinyl siding (but it's high end!) even though I always mocked it. It was a sad decision but we chose nice colours and had the window trim, roof fascias, vertical corner "posts" with aluminum (spell check wants me to type aluminium) and it turned out pretty good. Kept the soffit brackets even though a few estimates said it's not possible - but when the company that agreed with us said it could be done, we were very happy. It surprised me that using thick "contractor grade" bags, after shovelling in paint scrapings to about a third of the volume of the bag it was very, very heavy.

What caught my attention here, goose, was your comment about being glad it wasn't your full time job (still teaching?). I so very much agree. Being a side project is well enough, but to have to contort and crawl and twist limbs to get into corners and such every day for a paycheck, yup, would not be a fun job. Could not pay me enough to do that on house after house. And the weather was such a big factor. Rain? Maybe for a few days? How long to let it dry? Is the fresh coat of primer or paint in full sun by the time you get going? Not a fun experience. I am sure it looks great now, are you happy with the results?

Cheers :)

Laughing at the patheticness of so-called Christians after the part of the Olympic opening ceremonies had a performance featuring someone portraying Dionysius but the people looking to be offended thought it was the Last Supper but with gays and trans people. I don't recall that person in the Bible.

It turned out great, and the homeowner is very happy. My house was built I'm 1934, and I've just spent a dozen hours or so prepping pur window ledges for painting.  I've had to strip layers upon layers of paint, then apply wood restorer and putty.

Thankfully the rest of the house was redone with siding several years ago.  A much easier solution.

BastillePark - my reaction may have come across as loud and opposing. I think I was going for a double speak thing, like somebody taking the time to post a sign about Hillbillies but being concerned about a condition they could not spell properly. So, how could anybody dare mock what they don't even know to be true. My humour is generally kept to myself, but I do make outbursts. Hope I didn't offend you.

I found an old computer at a friends house that had a sticker that said "This Computer Will Never Be Obsolete!"  What a hilarious and nonsensical marketing point!

It was a Windows 95 machine with 32MB of RAM.  lol

Not in the least and I took your post as humorous.

Watching a banner carryng plane drop an advertisement banner prior to circling around to pick up a new banner.  The advert was touting the miraculous news of "Vitamins for your vagina" followed by the lettered addition "Now at Target".  Hey, if guys can take hormones and anabolic substances crudely referred to as "d$$k pills", why not the ladies?

A guy in Texas, (surprise) paid $4000 in an auction for a guitar supposedly signed by Taylor Swift to then smash it to make a point. Turns out it wasn't her signature which makes the point he thought he was making even less intelligent.

It is hard to understand how he thinks him smashing the guitar has any effect on anyone, except show what a jackass he is.
