Airplane! has aged very, very well; that kind of staying power says a lot for it. It is still as funny as it was 30 years ago.

This Is Spinal Tap is another all time favorite of mine.

Oh, and Kingpin is another movie I love. "Guy humor" is way funnier than "chick humor" as a rule.

The three movies from my youth that made me laugh the loudest -- and have aged well all these years later -- were these two and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."

How could I forget Holy Grail?!?!? I never tire of that one. DH doesn't get it - he doesn't care for British humo(u)r.

Well, there are movies like Spinal Tap, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and Waiting for Guffman (Christopher Guest films) that are all so incredibly clever, entertaining, and just brilliant....but I don't do a ton laughing out loud

Old School, Fletch, Anchorman, Groundhog Day, Dumb and Dumber, Ghostbusters, Kingpin, Something about Mary are all up there

Really impossible to pick 1

The naked gun and airplane movies were really funny.

In no particular order:

Spinal Tap
Clue
Murder by Death
History of the World, Part I
Young Frankenstein
Holy Grail
Princess Bride
Airplane!
Christmas Story
Better Off Dead

That's a very good list.

yes.gif

I've seen everything on there at least 5 times...with Spinal Tap, Princess Bride, Airplane, & Better Off Dead well over 15 times each.

There may be more movies out there that fall into, artistically, the best comedies of all time, but there are no other movies that made me laugh harder and more often than these gut busters.

In no particular order............

A Fish Called Wanda

There's Something About Mary

Rat Race

The Hangover

Groundhog Day

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Blazing Saddles

Ghostbusters

Young Frankenstein

Meet The Parents

Christmas Vacation

Raising Arizona

I Love Scotch. Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch. Here It Goes Down, Down Into My Belly. trink38.gif

As far as current movies go, I really enjoyed Pineapple Express and Horrible Bosses.

I feel like I need to get some new favorite comedies in that list!

They're oldies but goodies.

Look, defenseless babies! rofl3.gif

"Ed McMahon (gestures to the envelope). Irwin M. Fletcher, you choose. Ooooweee, yeah, oh, I lost."

Another group of movies I probably never would have discovered without my kids are the Toy Story trilogy. All three are absolutely hilarious.
