ColdFireYYZ Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Emily Haines, Stevie Nicks, Chloe Alper (Pure Reason Resvolution), and Ann Wilson are the only ones I can think of right now. I was also listening to Grace Potter on Youtube last night, and really liked her voice. I'm going to get her albums soon when I have the money.

The list is endless. cool. I don't run across a lot of people who appreciate Harriet Wheeler - I think she is one of the best. it's a shame they only put out three albums. I am always hoping that they will put out another one, especially since the music industry has changed so much since Static and Silence came out. natalie Merchant is great as well. Unfortunately they never got much past student radio here. They were quite big in the UK during the 80s when indie took off. She's a special one alright and yes, it's a crying shame they never had more output. Natalie is a wonder as well, seeing her on the 'Motherland' tour in the front row was mega-spesh The twins have always been on the back-burner and I need to chase their stuff up pronto now. I only know a few. Edited February 25, 2011 by Steevo

RushCanuck Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I love the voices/music of Diana Ross and the original Supremes, Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard, from the period of about 1964-68. They were young, talented, and beautiful in their long evening gowns. Motown was a happening place in those days.

ReRushed Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Judee Sill. Wow. Another "should have been huge" casualty. Lack of commercial success. Drug overdose. She was as good as any of her contemporaries. I am so glad her music lives on.
