  1. QUOTE (Nate1647 @ Apr 19 2011, 11:02 PM) I figured out what happened! If you watch right before the guitar solo, Geddy (is supposed to) tap the pedal that starts the synth line during the guitar solo. He accidently hits one of the pedals that he uses during the chorus (3:45-3:46) then frantically hits the pedal to start the right synth line, a little before beat 3. Neil's loudest feed through his IEM/Headphones is whatever sequenced track is currently playing so he adjusts to geddys little flub, not noticing that Alex is just going away on the current solo. Alex never adjusts, finishes early. As soon as alex finishes early, geddy realizes it, jumps ahead with him, where Neil joins a measure later (once the vocals return to his IEM). An unfortunate mistake, and it shows the price of using live sequences and things. Although mistakes rarely happen (especially with Geddy), it shows how bad they can be. Also, they could have just whiped that sample track completely and thrown it in again for the dvd, but the fact that Neil went with it is going to be VERY hard to edit out. So in conclusion, Geddys fault. I do know what I'm talking about too, I use foot pedals and samplers, and actually cover presto too. I think they can fix that... popstars get their whole album fixed when they have no talent...a little studio trickery and film editing can fix this in no time. but what would be the coolest is if they just leave it in...warts and all...
  2. QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Apr 17 2011, 03:26 PM)I flew out from Idaho just to be there for the show. I paid an obscene amount of money to be where I was (3rd row center...first time I had been center since R30) and then flying there from Boise was an expensive nightmare. I met some of the most amazing people and had the most amazing concert experience of my life. It was worth every penny, every second of travel, ever hour of overtime at work, and every hour that I worked at a second job. I couldn't NOT make it to that show! you were at the Hard rock pre show right? I thought I recognized you from your meet n greet pic... anyway...the show was amazing... First, at the merch stand right after the doors opening,I see a camera man and who is standing behind him? Sam Dunn (Beyond the Lighted Stage,Iron Maiden-Flight 666,Metal:A Headbangers Journey) Turns out It's him and his Banger Films crew doing the new DVD. He noticed my sons Iron Maiden T and said he had been in Chile and somewhere else filming Maiden's Final Frontier tour. really psyched that Sam is working on the DVD because his work on the live footage for Flight 666 was amazing, especially compared to the self produced DVDs the band had put out previous...I'm sure he can bring some extra life to the new Rush DVD...not that the Cleveland crowd didn't bring plenty of life of it's own... Second,my seat was right by Sam and his crew, plus Donna Halper of WMMS fame was in attendance and sitting by the board for portions of the concert. and then towards the end of the show, Ray Daniels is leaning on the rail chatting(or yelling, actually) with a drunken fan... my better half,my son and his friend were up in sec 229 and all three loved the show as well... I dug Alex wearing the suit for MP...the crowd was rabid for YYZ and 2112,as I recall goosebumps during those songs... overall, just an awesome day...seemed like everybody in the city was wearing a Rush shirt...
  3. QUOTE (traeplien @ Mar 30 2011, 09:26 AM) QUOTE (Snyder80 @ Mar 30 2011, 08:07 AM) QUOTE (traeplien @ Mar 29 2011, 08:34 PM) I just don't get why anybody needs to meet them. I would feel so silly getting my picture taken with any celebrity. Took the words right outta my mouth. I mean, is it me or does "meet and great" have "geek" written all over it?? no...but "meat and Greet" does...

  5. QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Mar 17 2011, 05:23 PM) Morrissey - The More You Ignore Me, the Closer I Get I love that tune. i remember watching the video on a vhs when I was about 18. My stepfather walked into the living room, stared @ the TV for a moment, then looked at me and asked "Are you a queer"?
  6. trying to think "of all time", but I can't even narrow down to 10 favorite bands,so this list of 10 songs is bound to have some glaring omissions. astronomy domine - pink floyd dark star - grateful dead got to get you into my life - beatles big news - clutch inertia creeps - massive attack hum along and dance - the temptations can't stand losing you - the police a small victory - faith no more born under punches - talking heads hip hop - dead prez

  10. QUOTE (driventotheedge @ Feb 23 2011, 05:00 AM) QUOTE (jonboy71 @ Feb 22 2011, 02:52 PM) Has anyone received their musictoday presale tickets? I have not and last time I got tix through them (S&A Live tour) they didn't come until about a month before the show. In fact I happened to call them about 2 days before they actually sent them as I was getting a bit worried. I'm hoping the wait isn't as long this time. I'm 3rd row center in Portland and am DYING to have those tix in my hands. If anyone has received their musictoday tix, please let us know. i'm still waiting on my Cleveland ticket from musictoday... ordered more tix last night for the wife,my son,and his friend from the Q website and it said 10 to 14 days...
  11. QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Nov 7 2010, 02:25 PM) http://www.cbc.ca/gfx/images/arts/photos/2010/06/24/rush-bidini.jpg Neil: Come on, Ged! Lemme see the award! Please? Geddy: Piss off, eh?! You never show up for shit like this! I've put up with thousands of women hugging me at meet & greets... Alex: But Ged, we like the chicks hugging us, remember? Geddy: Well, yeah, but that's not the point, Alex. Neil: Whoa, whoa...Chicks show up at meet & greets? Why didn't you jokers tell me! greatness

  17. QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Dec 6 2010, 06:51 PM)QUOTE (Yukon Cornelius @ Dec 6 2010, 06:47 PM) QUOTE (Jean Simmons @ Dec 6 2010, 06:37 PM) QUOTE (D3strukt @ Dec 6 2010, 06:28 PM) Alright seriously? The negativity is getting out of hand here. I know you're taking the piss on American Stereotypes, but it's getting old. Shut up. And just to let you know, I know quite a few fat nations out there, that are WORSE than America. Italy is one, oh god. I've been there. I love the people, and country, great place. Believe it or not, China is pretty bad too, i've been there as well. Not so good food, and they have no speed limits, but the people are friendly. Most fat American's I've known have been Italian Americans. Big City Americans are slimmer than small town Brits. Small Town Americans are wider than small town Brits. I've never known a fat Chinaman, all the Chinkys I know are staffed by slim folk, but it's bloody hot by that fryer. All Whoopers and Hollerers I've known have been Americans. It's much more refined to sit and applaud politely, then get to one's feet and shout "Bravo!" at the end of the concert. Oh yeah, got to pile on the hate for Cleveland, why on earth film in somewhere as desolate as Cleveland? I'd sooner send my mother in law to Pakistan than Cleveland! ........because that's where it all started! You make it sound like they are going to film it outdoors at the industrial park....It's indoors with 10,000 screaming fans of which I shall be one. Jean is taking the piss... it's that "dry British humour" I guess. Cleveland seems like an odd choice... it's literally the "middle of nowhere". I get the whole nod to their humble beginnings, but wouldn't "Rush at Madison Square Garden" or "Rush in L.A." be a lot cooler? No...Rush "Hello Cleveland" sounds like a great DVD/Blu ray title... Cedar Point's website says they will not be open by 4/15, so I'm leaving the family to get waterlogged at Castaway Bay,and I'm heading over to the Dunkin Donuts Dome(or whatever that arena is called) for some and then maybe
  18. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Nov 30 2010, 05:28 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Nov 30 2010, 05:24 PM) If they do this, I assume Nolan will do it only if the Joker's integration is absolutely seamless. Remember when Oliver Reed died while filming "Gladiator," and they had to CG him into a few important scenes? The effect was less than convincing. But that was 10 years ago...technology has advanced considerably since then. I trust Nolan to do the right thing here. Or The Sopranos with Nancy Marchand! It looked so bad. yeah...that one was just creepy and weird...
  19. QUOTE (Bone Roller @ Nov 19 2010, 08:28 PM) so i haven't logged in for a few days and see the news about the tour. hit the main Rush.com page and see the Euro dates. Something looks familiar...my other favorite band, Iron Maiden also touring. Turns out their playing the same hall in Frankfurt the day after. What are the odds. Looks like a trip i tells myself. then i click the linkey dinkey to see when the German pre-sale occurs...turns out it's on. Grabbed me a few. holy poop!!! maiden AND in 48hrs??? If I were not so broke,I'd be all over that.... seen maiden in july,so i'll settle for rush in cleveland or nyc @ msg unless i can stowaway in bonerollers suitcase
  20. Clutch is my favorite band. maybe not "of all time" but I've been really into them for the last 12 yrs. seen em 21 times...number 21 was just last week.
