  1. My review of Haken in Toronto last Sunday: https://www.sonicperspectives.com/concert-reviews/haken-february-2024/?fbclid=IwAR24fXfFjDBSnRw5NhwQftBCfAwPwZ4SC4LYYXKCCSl6QXxRC5tT0sQx9kc
  2. I saw Haken live yesterday, on their "An Evening With" tour. A three-hour prog extravaganza where they played Fauna in full and songs from all their other albums, including the title track of Visions. Insanely good! I did the meet and greet too, and they were on board with my idea for a pic - to do a spoof of Van Halen in the Hot for Teacher video:
  3. New song by Brazilian prog metal band Maestrick, from their upcoming album. With yours truly doing the narration at the 4-minute mark:
  4. I noticed that in the audience as well, as soon as I got into the venue...
  5. My pics weren't that great...but what a night!!!! I found a video of the first hour here:
  6. I think this will be announced in the next few months. But before that, Bruce has a new solo album coming out, with a few tour dates already announced.
  7. There you go!!! https://www.sonicperspectives.com/interviews/interview-with-mike-mangini/
  8. The interview to promote his solo album, which is being kept under lock and key for a while. I received a promo copy today, and it's...different from what you would expect. NOTHING to do with Dream Theater.
  9. I have a chat with Mike Mangini on Friday...does anyone have questions for him?
  10. And here are MY impressions: https://www.sonicperspectives.com/album-reviews/baroness-stone/?fbclid=IwAR2AL4czWlvwvTN2pi14bcS0IpYj0TqQQFbjJORZDTTG3Zp3DL0k5Qa0umQ
  11. I JUST saw this! I hope there's still time to give you a few tips. Email me at rodrigo.altaf@gmail.com, and we can chat!
  12. This album is more consistent than Gold & Grey, although it has less standout moments, at least in my first listens.
  13. Thanks again everyone! June is a busy and happy month at Casa de Rod- mt wife and daughter also have their birthdays this month! I continue to interview some of my favorite artists, but not with the same intensity as I used to. It's still great when it happens though! We're in Toronto, but considering another move in a year ir so . I'll start a new job in August, but before then we'll visit family in Rio. How's that for an update?
  14. Here's my review of the Klash of the Titans tour - Spiritworld, Death Angel, Kreator and Sepultura: https://www.sonicperspectives.com/concert-reviews/klash-of-the-titans-june-2023/?fbclid=IwAR15_rHaDGOc7K9oi3gAsbjf0vUfo2gI8sNUW2joZ21XVblFweiy1jS3KGg
  15. It's the galloping bit before Adrian's solo. He switched it around a bit, and I think he's playing that part one octave higher. Also...I did see the footage of them playing that song with Gers not appearing in it. Whenever he plays a solo from the classic period he messes it up - most notably Moonchild and Revelations. I'm really glad he kept his hands off the Somewhere in Time material, except for Heaven Can Wait.
  16. I like it, but it doesn't have the same impact as the other albums in their discography. Nobody's Fault But Mine is great, as is the absolute MASTERCLASS in heavy metal called Achilles Last Stand. The rest of the album is ok in my opinion, just not as special as the material in their other releases.
  17. This guy's channel is insanely good. His series on In Through the Out Door and "Led Zeppelin in the 80's " were full of details I had no idea about.
  18. I interviewed Richie Faulkner two Fridays ago, before this tour was announced. Here it is!!!
  19. Their net worth is $150 million EACH, because of te deal they made with Guitar Hero. All of them are old, don't really get along, and don't seem to write good songs together anymore...so I'd say it's appropriate to call it a day.
