  1. Earl buddy, I didn't catch this before but Cultosauras Erectus was between those two albums but I appreciate the BOC support. I recently saw them in Las Vegas on the day before Labor Day. I like Mirrors but it doesn't always get the love that some of the others do.
  2. I'd go see the Lee-Lifeson project if the other two still wanted to play.
  3. Attaboy Earl for representing BOC. I'll add a few non-Rush items but I'm too tired to make an extended list. BOC - Secret Treaties / Agents of Fortune Yes - Fragile / Close to the Edge Genesis - Foxtrot / Selling England and The Lamb Lies Down / Trick of the Tail Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell / Mob Rules Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic / Rocks Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon / Wish You Were Here Bruce Springsteen - What's My Appeal? / Can't Sing a Lick
  4. I wouldn't say "given," my last few Rush concert tickets have been rather expensive :D As to the thread question, a new younger singer will never happen. I do agree that Ged's voice is getting worse, I can't imagine them even doing two more tours. And while I'm complaining, they should drop the intro/outro videos, they haven't been funny or entertaining in any way since Jerry Stiller was in them. Leave comedy to the professionals! Jerry Stiller isn't funny. And if Rush ever passed the lead singer baton to someone else, I wouldn't bother. Of course I ditched Marillion after Fish left, too. Moot point anyway since the band have said themselves - several times - that if one retires then Rush is done. Jerry Stiller isn't funny? Actually, that makes you funny for saying that. It's okay, not all people understand comedy. Do you have a website where you review comedy TV shows and comedy movies? If so, then I would like to visit it so I know that I can choose the opposite of whatever you recommend.
  5. I think that "Feel the sun up in your ass" would also work. I'm drawing a blank on what song "lemony cake" is referring to. "There's no bread Lemony cake" Ring a bell? Thanks, I didn't make the Bastille Day connection at first.
  6. I think that "Feel the sun up in your ass" would also work. I'm drawing a blank on what song "lemony cake" is referring to.
  7. I thought that I was the only person in the world who feels the way you do about "Available Light". I try to listen to it about every five years. It starts out promising and then it hits "In the available light" which makes me hit skip immediately. I always make sure there isn't anything sharp around me to puncture my eardrum at that part. You could force me to hear any song of your choice from the early years and I would gladly listen to it 1000 times in a row (might need a sleep break) rather than listen to Available Light once. That includes "I think I'm Going Bald".
  8. I can't agree more with your comment about "it is what it is" and I cringed every time that lyric was about to be sung in concert. As clever as Neil usually is with his lyrical content, I'm surprised that he would stoop to modern day simplistic speak for people that have difficulty forming a coherent thought. Just utter that nonsense and you don't have to ever explain what you mean. I would really like this song if it wasn't for that phrase.
  9. That's funny because I always refer to the boy as Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara's son.
  10. Good post. As Billy Corgan said: "At the end of the day, rock is a people's game, and the people have consistently and overwhelmingly voted for this band." True! The winners can't always be decided by "five guys in a back room"; the people should be allowed to speak. And they do, and have! And as NPR pointed out yesterday, the whole nominating process is completely secretive and NON-transparent; they don't want the public to know how they make their decisions. One former member of the Nominating Committee blew the whistle on the committee and its decision-making practices: he said that one year the committee was upset that the first draft of potential nominees were all "small name acts" and no artist would draw people into buying tickets to their money-making induction dinner. In that case, money in their pockets was more important than musical merit in deciding who to nominate. ("We need a big name act!") Another year, Wenner inducted Grandmaster Flash instead of the Dave Clark Five, on the technicality that some Dave Clark Five votes came in after a "deadline." In truth, Wenner had said to the committee "we can't go another year without inducting a rap act." So he was predisposed to inducting Grandmaster Flash, is what it came down to. Oh yeah, and about that comment that Geddy's voice alone should disqualify them: I bet that music critic never said the same thing about Bob Dylan, Neil Young, or Michael Stipe (R.E.M.), none of whom have good voices! Please add Janis Joplin to that list in your last sentence. She sounded like a cat that was either being strangled or banged by someone.
  11. Does it have to be a musician? How about Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis as Bob and Doug Mckenzie?
  12. Should be played in Houston, yes. It was played in Houston.
  13. That is incorrect. Limelight was played in Houston.
  14. Well done Steevo! It's outstanding. It's too bad that the hurricane inteferred with the 40th anniversary show last week. They are playing again on Monday, 11/5. I really wish that I could attend since Albert, Joe, and Allen are all supposed to appear as special guests.
  15. QUOTE (LittleRed @ Sep 19 2012, 07:20 PM) I was a tad frustrated with the couple behind me who talked loudly through a few songs at the beginning. And the guy in front of me kept getting up to go get beer. To me, why would you want to miss a second talking or going for beer? An alcoholic cares more about his or her beer than the greatness of Rush. A non-alcoholic Rush fan is more likely to get his or beer before the show and at intermission so none of the show will be missed.
