Entre_Perpetuo
I included all of them from every lineup according to wikipedia. The ones you're probably thinking of are at the bottom of the poll.
Krystal
I voted for Lindsey, Christine is a close second. There's a lot of people on that list I didn't even know about. :oI liked Stevie Nicks when she was younger. Her voice just isn't the same these days. Entre_Perpetuo
So here's my take. I'm also ignoring all the people I don't know. I put them in just in case someone comes in here like "real Fleetwood Mac was before all that pop stuff!" or something. Lindsey's voice is probably the closest to what I usually favor: high pitched emotional male vocals. However he has this kind of whiny quality that detracts a bit. I also think he's the most easily covered of the three leads. The most difficult thing about most of his performances is just his range, which is quite high to be fair. Christine's voice is shows impeccable control and has a kind of somber dramatic flair I really enjoy. It's also just very pretty. She's definitely the best balladeer. She can also do upbeat pop songs with relative ease. Although her voice is pretty deep, and she doesn't sing lead on most of the biggest of their big hits, I think she's probably my favorite. But still... Stevie's voice is the most iconic of the three. She has an incredibly unique style and a natural rock and roll grit to power it up. While not as versatile as Christine or as high pitched as Lindsey, she makes up for it in pure mystical charisma. I said Lindsey was the most coverable, but unfortunately Stevie I feel is the most covered. Everyone wants to have a heartfelt moment singing Landslide or Rihannon or (lately) Dreams. I've never heard anyone come close. These songs are Stevie's and hers only. There's just something in the timbre and cadence of her voice that other singers can't imitate, and if they can then it falls into the uncanny valley. And furthermore there's something about her songs that begs for her voice to sing them, no one else's. To me she's got the star power the other two lack in the vocals department, even as a one-trick pony. Stevie gets my vote, with Christine a close second. bluefox4000
I picked Lindsey and Christine. i love the welch era but don't think he was the best vocalist. and sorry i don't think stevie was that great. like honestly if you took her out of that classic era.....wouldn't miss a thing for me. sorry stevie fans. she's not even what pulled me to them. i respect her though. but her stuff is really not what got me into the Mac. nor do i come back to them for her stuff. i love lindsey and Chris though. Mick Edited September 14, 2021 by bluefox4000

blueschica
I voted for Christine McVie. I love her voice on Songbird, especially. Â I do like Bekka Bramlett, and hadn't realized that she was with Fleetwood Mac for awhile. EP knows it all! :ebert:

IbanezJem
I presume we`re talking about them all in their prime, rather than in their 70s? Stevie, followed by Lindsey in Fleetwood Mac terms - both excellent in their solo work too but Lindsey has the superpower as a guitarist. For whatever reason, I`ve never been as keen on the Christine songs. grep
For me, Mac was about the harmonies not the individual singers. It's hard to vote for a best one. Â Though I am partial to Stevie's solo work.

Segue Myles
I have to go for Stevie. Christine is fine but her songs can be really quite tame. Lindsey is great. Stevie just has a rasp and a power in her delivery that is unmatched by anyone else. It's easy to hate her for the lack of technique but on songs like Storms, Rhiannon, Landslide, Gypsy, Sara, Silver Spring, she is ethereal and ghostly and no amount of training, range or technical prowess will ever beat a raw, passionate vocal.  Honestly it's easy to love Christine and her crystalline pop voice, but on the whole I find her quite unremarkable (even though I love her to death as well). Stevie stops me dead in my tracks at any given moment.
bluefox4000
Lindsey ..... and Stevie knows it! ..... hence Lindsey's current status of ex-member. in her defense Lindsey's awful to work with based on a documentary i saw........BUT.......however. Chris and Lindsey put out a duo project that was basically the Mac sans Stevie as it also had John and Mick on the whole thing. and that album proved that don't need princess goat voice mc-sniffy coke nose. It was an awesome record. Mick Edited September 14, 2021 by bluefox4000
