BEAT (live) - Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Danny Carey & Steve Vai
78jazz replied to treeduck's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I saw this band 3 times. It was easily one of the best concerts I will ever see. -
I saw this in Rogers, AR and it was excellent. I am confident you will have a good time as well. My next show will be Mastodon, but the jury is out on whether I am headed to Green Bay or Des Moines (I may have a job offer at the end of the week, which will undoubtedly influence where I drive to).

Skip Bayless debates 25 NFL/NBA superfans - Jubilee video
78jazz replied to Slime's topic in One Little Victory
I don't plan to watch the video, but I wouldn't be surprised if the mental gymnastics from the sports fans arguing Belichick actually mattered on this were of supreme entertainment. -
What a great win!

And what a legacy it is! RIP. This news is a bummer to hear.

It appears to have been the first time they showed up this season.

Exit Stage Left Youtube Upload (possible 50th anniversary announcement?)
78jazz replied to TheAnarchist2112's topic in Rush
It also sounds like it has the pre-2006 audio on the clips. -

I am hoping we get a complete recording of a show we don't have in circulation. Perhaps September 22? As for the 50th talk, I also wonder if some ATWAS box set with all 3 nights is released for that (yes, I would grab it up in a heartbeat).

As a Police NERD, I thank you for asking this question. I always wondered about Andy's take on Alex.
-
This is hard, because I like them both. I went with Cygnus.
-
I went with Staley but it is generally a toss-up for me between him and Weiland. I will add this: No other band of those referenced in the poll were going to do a song like And So I Know as well as STP.

In the book, no. There is a reference to Geddy's stage banter on the second night in La Crosse that quotes him. Assuming this is exact, either someone did a great job of documentation and preservation of that comment or a recording exists somewhere. This is why I have suggested on here that they have at least this.
-
The question I have is if that is a new recording or just a rip of the audio from the video that surfaced in 2009. If it's a rip, I'm not sure I want the set.
-
Not if I have anything to say (or eat) about it!
-
Given Geddy's voice at that time, we may perceive that song different. Put it on Counterparts and I think it would be rockin'! I think with TCE, if it were recorded the way it was played on the Signals tour, it would be much more enjoyable.

The Camera Eye. There, I said it.

I forget: are you native to a college town?

I was bummed we didn't get the whole Edmonton show.

Compared to the studio recordings, no. The fast and loose they would play though was generally consistent. The known recordings from Signals were all that energetic (I suspect this was done to get all the material played that they wanted to in 2 hours or less). If one wanted to look for clues to how coke was affecting their performances, I would start listening to the vocals first. Coke can wreak havoc on the pipes.
