Amon Duul II. There is no other choice.

Maybe for you pop fans. As long as it was on MTV i guess it's good, right?

There's a reason it captured the imagination of the world.

And actually, with the active space program of the time, the universe.

I can't decide between these few:

Master Of Reality

Led Zeppelin IV

Aqualung

Hunky Dory

Meddle

Sticky Fingers

Who's Next

The Yes Album

Pawn Hearts

Nursery Cryme

Killer

Tarkus

Madman Across The Water

Santana III

Islands

....hold on, I'm being told that practically half of the list doesn't count as "a few."

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain was voted 'best guitar album' of 1971 by Guitar Player Magazine.

Tony R mentioned it as a favorite recently.

I'm throwing in a Canadian favorite as well.

Joni Mitchell - Blue

I went with Sticky Fingers over Who's Next, Low Spark, Led Zep IV, Master of Reality.

Again, I've got a story to back up my decision.

May of 1971, our high school was closed mid-day due to a gas/Co2 issue. A bunch of us went over to a friend's house and first heard Sticky Fingers. WOW !!! Great new tunes and we indulged in drink and weed. FUN afternoon. :smoke: I never told my parents that the school was let out early that day.

Can't You Hear Me Knocking is THE BEST rock guitar intro, period.

Best year ever for rock music?

Could be 73 as well.

I read that it was 1966.

I think it might be 75.

Ended up with Meddle over Fragile and Zep IV.

However, the Allman Brothers - At Fillmore East is my favorite 71 album.
