  2. Just call them what they are, exhibition games. These have to either be the easiest games in the world to bet or the hardest, team quality means virtually nothing, motivation is everything.

  3. Post season College Football is ruined. Has been for quite some time, which is a shame. Bowl games used to be great fun.

  9. The ATH-M50s are excellent headphones for $150, there's a lot of good options in that price range. And depending on needs and preferences, there's arguably nice stuff in the $100 range too like the Sennheiser HD280 which were my prior headphones of choice for doing rough mixing. But yeah, something nice is ... nice to have and I can definitely see appreciating a boutique pair more now than at any other point in my life. I've also learned that I only live once, so for the things that matter to me there's no half assing it anymore.

  11. This thread reminds me of the first "nice" headphones I ever bought many moons ago. I don't recall the model but they were Sennheisers and cost a whopping $73 which at the time was a major decision for me. Not only were they far and away more than I'd ever spent on headphones, but the price was hard to justify in my mind. Not because we were going to not be able to pay a bill or something, just that I couldn't imagine paying that much for headphones. My primary pair now would make some people question my sanity but they sound exquisite to me and I could afford them.

  24. Because of it's alcohol content Molson Brador was labeled as a malt liquor in the 70's. Brought a bunch of cases from the Windsor B.R.O. back to Detroit in those days, and screw the "tax" collected by US Customs. Re the OP, America's favorite beer flavored water, Michelob Ultra. A close 2nd to old Heineken that went skunk.

  26. Exactly. And that shouldn’t be surprising, I’ve heard countless artists not even remember which songs on are which albums and such. Most of them haven’t heard their own songs since they recorded them unless they’re live staples. Casual fans seem to have this expectation that you could randomly bump into Geddy and Alex on the street and hand them instruments and say “Play Different Strings for me” and they could do it on the spot. Most artists live in the moment, the fans know more about what they played on various tours and such than they do. I’ll bet Geddy hasn’t listened to ESL since it was mastered and I seriously doubt he knows what songs are on it. And again, this isn’t a criticism, that’s the case with almost all bands.

  30. I saw Audible had it but I think it is the abridged version. I am going to have to get my tapes copied into a digital format before they get too old. I am sure you will enjoy it.

  31. Interesting. I found the Popoff books extremely detailed regarding the band’s processes in the studio. I’d call those books pretty definitive if you wanted to learn more about Rush’s creative approaches. I used to think Popoff was a dopey hanger-on. But those three Rush books are excellent. Now ALEX needs to write a book.

  34. If by "much to FSU's disadvantage" you mean "much to ESPN's/the committee's relief'", then yeah. PJ continues: "There is talk 2nd string QB Tate Rodemaker will be sufficiently healed to play. Though I doubt his availability, or lack therof, made any difference." Not as long as ESPN is pulling the strings. Sorry I botched the quote string as badly as the committee botched their job.

  36. The crux of the problem is that the ncaa didn't make it a 8 team playoff from the very beginning. therrrre's your problem. instead of winning 2 games, the winner has to win 3....oh the horror of an additional game! oh wait...maybe in that extra game their top 2 QBs will get hurt and then it's back to a 5 person circus committee.
