"The Spirit of Radio" suffers a bit from over-familiarity, but when I can actually listen to it, that's a great track. All these others are immaculate, and I'm loving the ranking of "Circumstances" and "Kid Gloves," an underrated gem I wish had been played more often.

Watched the first two episodes, and man were they great. Les Claypool and Robert Trujillo, what a way to kick things off!

I'd guess no. She was featured in Geddy's "Are Bassists Human, Too?" series, and that was the first time I'd heard of her, but she was the bassist in Hole for their one hit, and then toured with Smashing Pumpkins post-peak. In the show, she seemed like quite . . . a character.

Derek Carr got into a shouting match with center Erik McCoy during last week’s win over the Panthers. Those things happen, but they usually don’t happen this often. As this ESPN.com article by Katherine Terrell outlines, Carr went at it with offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael in Week 6 and was yelling at wide receiver Chris Olave in Week 7. Watching the Saints has been a mostly miserable experience this year. Rooting for them, I imagine, has to be even worse.

All brilliant songs. Kid Gloves is the superior one here for me, always top 10, but nothing to argue here.

According to this article from Fan Graphs, this contract is both of the two things: The Dodgers will actually pay 700 million over twenty years (ten of two million and ten of 68 million), but MLB will only count 460 million (46 million per year) toward the CBT. That, friends, is some bullshit. I get that the players would not want a salary cap or caps on deferred money, but why should the richest clubs get what is effectively a tax dodge (no pun intended)? Bring me NFL-style revenue sharing, please . . .

I enjoyed going to The Bruins game in Boston last Saturday. The B's played The Arizona Coyotes and The B's won 5-3. Its always an adventure going to the TD Garden. (Boston Garden i still call it). The Fans really really get into it. I love it! Go B's PS i work a lot of overtime so i treated myself to a Bruins windbreaker jacket. $140.00 .

That Hideous Strength, book three in The Space Trilogy. Perelandra was not as interesting to me as Out of the Silent Planet. It has an interesting conceit, but the plot itself isn't complicated and is very drawn out. I enjoyed intellectual exercise, but I thought it could have been accomplished with 1/3 of the words. That Hideous Strength is a much longer book, and so far seems quite complicated, in comparison.

And then the Blues blow into town!

I'll see this when I can. Zac Efron seems like a strange guy, but I respect him for portraying Ted Bundy. He did a good job.

Over the past two days. I removed and replaced an old toilet that was not working well and had rust or some other stains in the bowl that couldn't be cleaned (and I tried everything short of sandpaper). The new one is more water efficient but flushes better and the seat is a little higher than the other one so it's a little easier to sit on or stand from. The only issues were the flange where the bolts go in the floor were put in by some moron and are not in the slots where they could be easily replaced and the water shutoff valve has a very slow leak. Unfortunately it's right next to the wall so I'd have to cut a hole to be able to get to the pipe to replace it. I need to get some of this and see if it works.

Never got into this band, but Goodwyn had a great voice. I liked the shoutout the Trailer Park Boys gave them in the episode where Ricky kidnapped Alex. RICKY: Hey, play "I Like To Rock." ALEX: That's April Wine RICKY: Well play that "Diane Sawyer" song, just f**kin' play something.

Having been to the first show in NYC, it was nowhere near as bad as people seem to think w/people yelling out. Far quieter and more attentive/well-behaved audience than any rock show I ever attended for sure. The haters (most of whom didn’t even go to any of these shows) should ask people who were actually there instead of reviewing the shows based on second hand video clips and a hypocritical notion that everyone should feel and behave exactly the same way as they do at a live public event or else they’re “selfish”. I can understand being upset the guy behind you uses your back as a set of drums for an entire rock concert as if everyone does it (which has actually happened to my older brother at a Rush concert—it almost resulted in a fist fight). That said, these shows are all unique and very moving at times and extremely entertaining.

The bizarre thing about the Permanent Waves live set is that La Villa from the St. Louis show is an absolute monster of a performance, far and away my favourite recording of that song. The bass from the Taurus pedals in the middle section is absolutely thunderous, it's my go-to demo track for speakers and subwoofers. The fact that they left it off is just bizarre. It speaks volumes that I own nine different copies of Permanent Waves (six on vinyl, three on CD) and the box set isn't one of them. I do, however, have the Moving Pictures box set, and of course I skipped Signals. Anthem really need to get their shit together with these things. No more stupid backstage passes and toy cars, give us MUSIC. That's what we're all here for in the first place.
