  1. Thanks, man. I've been doing these interviews for 2.5 years now, and it's been a humbling and steep learning curve. First I transcribed them, which meant more work, but less need to be "in tune" with the interviewees - I could just fill in the blanks in the transcript when the conversation wasn't developing so well. When I started publishing the audio, I felt the need to have more "organic" interactions with the artists. That meant MORE research to know their work, and a bump in my English skills too. In my view, it has to sound like an informative conversation between two friends, if that makes any sense. I listen to the first interview I did and compare with this one with Stewart, and it's like water and wine. Most of the interviews I do are offered to our website by PR agencies, but I do pursue a few of them on my own - Simon Phillips, Hugh Syme, Tony Franklin and this one with Stewart were like that. When I do an interview that I pursued, I go the extra mile for it to come out better, and I think it shows, especially on this latest one. My next mission is to get one with Mr. Big's Eric Martin, purely because my daughter loves their songs so much and she wants me to tell him that. Let's see if we can get him on the phone! By the way, I sent the interview to Stewart's assistant, and in her own words, "Mr. Copeland is happy with the final result". He posted it on his official website:

Glad to hear that about Copeland. It did sound like he was enjoying himself. He spoke a lot and seemed pretty relaxed. To be honest, I had never heard more than a 5-10 minute interview with him before. And those interviews were always pretty serious and focused on the project he was working on at the time. This one had a little bit of everything. And that had to do with your research and your approach.

  8. As I've mentioned before, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker always bickered, just like Sting and Stewart Copeland. The bass and drums are thundering, which probably causes thundering personalities for some. Eric Clapton and Andy Summers were always stuck in the middle. Whereas Geddy, Alex, and Neil got along.

  10. Thank you, I needed this today! Plus husband came running from the other room- "Did I ever tell you about when I saw them in the 70'S?" Love the BOC! I saw them on 'The Black and Blue Tour' in '80 with Black Sabbath. Both Excellent bands, excellent music. I have "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" as my ''get UP'' alarm on my phone. Where was that show? I saw that show in Detroit at the Joe Louis Arena on 05 October 1980. I was there also! Still got my ticket stub!

  11. I was oblivious to this initially. I found this article here, with mention that Kiefer Sutherland will be a part of the event. Sutherland was present at the Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere of Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage. This archived article on Kiefer Sutherland from the Dec 2003 issue of American Way magazine here gives mention of his love for the band. On a side note, there was a special on CBC titled Heart of Gold: 30 Years of Canadian Pop Music which aired on Dec 12, 13, 14 in 1982. Donald Sutherland was narrator of the special, and Geddy Lee makes an appearance from the clip posted below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZkCajA_ghc

  18. I'm not a drummer, but someone said that on this song Ginger plays every "phrase" different with no repeats. Is that true? They were a really good band . Too bad they were short-lived. Eric said that Ginger and Jack despised each other and made it impossible to continue. If I remember correctly, he also said they made a later attempt to reunite, but the same thing happened - Ginger and Jack at it all the time.

  21. Good! Now we're getting somewhere. Now, here's the start of the movie. I see snow! White snow! IbanezJem, you chose Paignton as the location. Isn't it a bit of a drawback that there's no snow here? This was a major setback. How could we possibly cross the river? Several hours of thought produced nothing. There was only one flask of coffee left when suddenly Mr Citizen spotted something. The sacred volcano Andu, which no man has seen before! :o From these glens and scars, the sound of the coot and the moorhen is seldom absent. Nature sits in stern mastery over these rocks and crags. 40. just f***ing vote. It's not THAT big of a deal :) Can't do it, sorry. :) Why? Because I don't know which one I like the best. Voting without knowing would be misrepresenting my opinion. Actually I doubt anyone here really cares about each others opinions enough to care! :) I care about my opinion enough to care that I don't misrepresent it. You're not testifying in a murder case! Entre, I hope you’re not like this when it comes to meals. You may starve to death one day!!! “Hmm...I’m not sure. Could go tacos. Could go burgers. Pizza too. Fish or chicken is always good. And then there’s curry. Oh man, I can’t decide.” :P
