  1. I just looked that up. I'm not repeating it here. Crap. I'm at work and I can't look it up. :( You're half way there.

  2. This is not about the OP, but....It cracks me up when slutty girls dress trashy and talk about "loving sex" etc etc and then become dismayed when they get humped and dumped.......Or when men date these girls and then get all uppity when the gal dresses slutty.

  3. Some men are pigs and some women are sluts. Always have been, always will be. Boy, was I surprised when I found out that a lot of young women are not those demure little innocent beings I thought they were ;) And just to let you girls know, a man can be monogamous and have a high sexual drive. Speaking of experience ;)

  5. Sometimes people attracts people who are not good for them for so many reasons. Low self-esteem, father/mother issues or inferiority complexes. Could be many things, and I won't jump to conclusions about OP here, just give my general 2 cents. I know it's so easy to become bitter when you got bad experience with men or women. :|

  7. Great idea. I've noticed there are a lot of red flags for men like that, i.e. they will want to do more than just hug you goodnight after a first date, or they will start asking you sexual/personal questions within the first week even, or make a lot of remarks about your physical appearance. I know it sounds old fashioned but it's true, make them wait if you want to see how they really are.

  8. Though I have a small admiration for Billy Joel, he has written several songs that make me cringe. I, too, do not like "We Didn't Start the Fire", but I think I hate "You May Be Right" even more. There is no fault whatsoever to be found with Allentown and Moving Out...do you agree? Yes??? Good, I thought so :) I actually love '70s Billy Joel. But one day in 1979, he woke up and realized he was a really famous singer/songwriter. :o So he tried to go all rock and roll, and Glass Houses was the weakest sounding rock record ever (you're off the hook, Rupert Hine), and I don't think he ever reached the top of his game again. Having said that, I take Songs in the Attic to the proverbial desert island. It's in my top 15 albums of all time.

  12. Really? Its my experience that women are bigger pigs than men. You girls talk about EVERYTHING and in great detail. We might talk about everything by unlike men we don't go out and try to DO everything.

  13. In general I think Rush fans are among the coolest people I've met. I love sharing a little time and space with like-minded people at shows. And most everyone who goes to a show is just there to have a good time and not cramp anyone else's experience. But there are a few things that wear on me a bit, and I suspect that there are others who have some of the same complaints. For me, one of the offenders is smartphones. I usually don't even bring mine to the show anymore, but if I do, I turn it off during the show. I'm certainly not saying that I think everyone should do that, and I think everyone, including myself, understands that people will want some pics or some movies. So for me this is really a matter of degree. Do it some, by all means. No reasonable person could complain about that. Just don't do it all night. More and more I'm hearing a similar sort of response, like the one that Lost in Translation director Sophia Coppola offered a while back: When I go to a concert, everyone is filming and photographing themselves and then posting the pictures right away. It is almost as if your experiences don’t count unless you have an audience watching them. Whatever happened to just enjoying the experience? I'm not a luddite, and I'm not saying that it's always a bad thing. I'm strictly talking about the level of use, which seems to be ever ticking upward. In Cleveland in 2010, I had great seats, but there was a very tall couple in front of me (and I'm six feet tall), both of whom insisted on shooting videos, arms raised high, for most of the night. Why they had to do that when there would be DVD of the show I'll never know. And this kind of thing happens all the time now. What's the big deal, some of you may ask? Well, for one thing, I don't want a bloody screen blocking part of my view of the stage for long periods of time, or for much of the night. It's distracting. And it's only three hours. We live with these machines every hour of every day. Seems to me we could put them away now and again. And other thing that surprises me is just using the phones, and in this case specifically when you're sitting right up front. Hey, you guys are cool and everything, but I've really got to check my News Feed. Don't want to miss anything so I'm just going to... oh hey, sweet fill Neil, that's really, uh... check it out, I just got a tweet from... and on and on like that. I have seen that SO many times in the first few rows of shows. I'm not saying that the band should demand our undivided attention for the entire time. Again, I'm talking about the level of use. There's a huge difference between checking it and putting it away... and taking a bunch of pics and vids and sending them out and waiting for the responses and taking some more and sending a text and... being so stuck on those f*cking things that they have to be a part of standing in front of the best band in the world! Also, and this also specifically relates to sitting right up front, is it a little weird to have someone take your picture with the guys playing in the background? Am I the only one who thinks that it's objectifying the band a little, like they're bears at the zoo or something? Just take a picture of them. Do you have to be in it? Maybe they don't give a shit, I don't know, though I have seen Al or Ged back up in those cases, as if to say no thanks. And another thing is crowding and/or crashing. Sometimes it's no problem at all. Two empty seats nearby, somebody grabs them, good. And fitting someone else who's smaller into your space, like your son or your wife/girlfriend? That's cool. But jamming yourself into a space where you really don't fit? Not so much. This just happened to me this year. There were two empty seats nearby, which me and others left alone in case it was just someone who was late. Soon two guys came and all was well for set one. They leave for drinks, set two begins, and two other guys come and fill the spots. Then the first two guys come back, and though they had been snaked, they jam into the same area. So we've got four guys occupying two seats, and none of the four are telling anyone else to leave because, clearly, none of them are holding those tickets. So I'm left to either (a) make a big problem of it and demand to see their tickets, or (b) suck it up and stand there like a sardine, thinking about whether to say piss off in an environment where no one can hear. And another time a guy just wandered across the fourth row, stopping occasionally, taking the temperatures of the people in the row, to see if they would tell him to bugger off. He made it to me and I got right in his ear and politely said "what in the F*CK?" He moves on, tries it again, and again. Look, I know everyone wants a shot at a good seat, regardless of whether they can pay for it, but patience and persistence can accomplish that. And the other side of the coin is that people pay hard-earned money for this tiny little space (and often much more when counting travel expenses), and they should be able to enjoy it without having to fend people off all night. Not everyone who sits up close is loaded. Some people have just decided that if they have any extra money, they're going to spend it on this, because it means that much to them. To reiterate what I said at the beginning, very few Rushies behave this way. Almost everyone is cool and respectful and great to hang with for the night. And I've mostly had great experiences at shows, but, and my Rush bud agrees with this, there is a clear relationship between the level of distraction and the quality of the experience. Fair enough?

  15. I LOVE GWAR!!!! Seen them maybe a dozen or so times and met them numerous times over the years. I always encourage everyone to see the band at least once- even if you hate the music it's a must. The last time I saw them was 2 years ago and I convinced my fiancé, brother and sister in law all to go- family night with GWAR. They stood as far back as possible, but I always try to get as close as possible and get soaked as much as I can. White shirts are a must too. You should go too- helluva show!

  18. I love the Atwas intro he did. It sounded so genuinely enthusiastic and positive. Subconciously, I always felt like this show was a celebration of sorts, and that this concert symbolized that Rush had made it and were truly destined for greatness. I was just thinking how wonderful it would be if Rush played that clip of Skip from Atwas at the beginning of their concert, next tour.... And then barrel into Bastille day? And, btw, they're truly at home in any city with their fans present with them.

  23. Sometimes the people who ask others to sit are the ones with Parkinson's disease who can't stand for three hours solid. isn't there a handicap section at most venues? Yes, usually for those in wheelchairs. But someone with the early stages of Parkinson's (or with an injury, as in the post above) is not visibly disabled and for most part can function normally, but will need to sit. My point is that not everyone who asks those around them to sit is doing it because they are boring/ texting/ deciding what food to buy. Some buy a seated ticket as opposed to a standing ticket, because they need to sit. although I'd sit for a disabled person if they asked me and told me they were disabled, I really think that sort of thing should be taken up with the venue beforehand. You're missing my pooint completely. That happens I get your point, I'm arguing against it. sorry you have parkinsons, and sorry johnnyblaze likes to sew quilts at shows instead of standing. You obviously don't get my point. IF you read what I posted you would've read that I DON'T sit. I stand, cheer, sing, AND don't tell anyone to sit, stand , move, turn off their cell, piss or shit but STILL you're going on about that f***ing quilt?! At least insult me with something that applies to what I said chill I am chill. Don't be an arrogant dick trying to look cool yet again

  26. http://electronicwarriorpoet.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/marvin-berry.jpg I want to use my DeLorean to prevent this thread from ever have happening. Perhaps I could lock losingit2k in a car trunk at the EXACT time this thread was created This demonstrates precisely how time travel can be used, and why the time machine must not be destroyed, after we straighten all of this out. Oh, and Johnny, be careful around that losingit2k character. He's got a few short circuits in his bionic implants. I was once successful in altering the present by changing the past. losingit2k had made 26 "Alphabet Tour Setlist" threads whereby he'd list a Rush tour setlist that would consist of songs beginning with a specific letter of the alphabet. For tours in which there weren't enough Rush songs to fill the setlist, he filled them with his own ideas of what a Rush song title might be for that specific letter. For example, The "X Alphabet Rush Tour Setlist" had songs like: - Xanadu - Xenophobe - X is Stencil - Xanadu (acoustic version) - XYZ - XY Chromosome - Xanadu (with strings and drum solo) - XXX (The gangbang of goats) It was a f***ing nightmare. Traveling back in time and preventing him from posting all 26 of those threads was the greatest thing that I've done for this universe's TRF. couldn't have gone back and killed hitler as a teenager or something? Killing is easy. You try and stop losingit2k from making a setlist thread (let alone 26 of them) and tell me how easy it is. A simple 'Thanks' would've sufficed. thanks... The Alphabet RUSH tour setlist: Set 1: Anthem Big Money Caravan Distant Early Warnings Entre Nous Freewill Ghost of a Chance Headlong Flight In the Mood Set 2: Jacob's Ladder Kid Gloves Limelight Marathon Natural Science One Little Victory Prime Mover Quantum Physics (Drum Solo) Red Barchetta Subdivisions Tom Sawyer Under the Shadow (Part II of the Necromancer) Vital Signs Encore: Working Man Xanadu YYZ- (Zoolander Outro Video ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYCmhHFhopA I'm not a fan of the setlist game but this is weirdly awesome. I particularly like the clever incorporation of the Q

  27. They did it the right way. One of the many many strengths of Breaking Bad is the short seasons. I won't miss the show when it's off the air because it's an epic story. I imagine I will watch over and over in my remaining years. Much like the Godfather movies. It's EPIC. It's among the BEST. It's apart of our culture.

  28. Two albums a year, original singles (A & B sides) not included on those albums (in the UK), touring around the world and a feature film. No excuse. So before the Beatles helped change the standard of bands writing their own material, they should have followed that standard? What rock history are you only privy to?

  31. RIP Skip. You played a major role in supporting Geddy on the road and I am grateful for the years of wonderful service you gave to the band that you loved. This is an enormous loss for the Rush family. Andrew last year, Skip this year. :( RIP Skip and thank you for all you've done. My condolences and love go out to Skip's family and friends.

They're for less public aid for those bums in poverty, and against a rise in the minimum wage so those who work 40 hrs a week at min wage can stay impoverished and on public aid. 39. Always try to be a little drunker than the people around you.. Better buggin than bugged I always say.. (I'm kidding of course!) Seriously though nothing ever bothers me at a Rush show, how could it?? I would say sit as close to the band as you can and don't look back. Make sure your glass is half full and not half empty. If you smoke weed (and I know you do) have a nice hoot outside, not enough to get stoned but just enough to "turn off and tune in".. and for gods sake don't blow smoke at Goober!

  41. I agree with both points!! PHONES: at the Cheap Trick show last month, I had a great view of the stage from where I was standing. Everyone- and I mean everyone- around me made room for me to move forward with my daughter so she could sit on my shoulders, hang onto the barricade to lift herself up, dance around, whatever. Nobody minded. Suddenly this big guy- tall & big- shoved his way past me, almost bowled Lucy over, and held up what must have been a freaking mini tablet or whatever the f*** it was. The screen was huge and directly in front of my face. It was loud, but I screamed "OI! GET OUTTA HERE!!!!" right in his ear and he scurried away. -___- Myself and my husband saved up for a long time for the Rush and CT shows we saw this year. Every penny was hard-earned, time asked off from work months in advance, hotel rooms booked in advance, etc. I'm not about to give up my seats to some big guy bullying his way through with a freaking tv screen in front of my face. Ain't happening. And I am hard to offend and very peaceful, but man, that just angered me! Especially once he almost knocked my child to the ground! mama bear *almost* made an appearance!

  42. Thanks so much for the posting. Just happen to click on this entire concert from 1984 the very first tour I saw of now 49. Not paying attention till Geddy says what city he was in did I realize this was my very first RUSH concert from the GUP Tour of which I saw 3 times. This is so awesome, I can remember having a buzz when some knucklehead kid grabbed my GUP tour white tshirt. I ran him down the walk way of the Cap Centre MD I beat him pretty good. I had a short temper back then unfortunately my shirt was torn to shreads in my pummeling. A great tour that sealed the deal in making this band my #1 band in rock. Peace

  43. Wow, thanks for including this. My travels took me to Ohio in 2009 and I went to the Agora for the first time ever(a 70's "power-pop" band called Artful Dodger that I liked and who caught on in Cleveland back then but nowhere else, played a reunion show). Of course, I didn't know this was not the original Agora which burned down many years ago.Still, the owner's daughter played me a video of the Agora's history. Definitely a long video because that place sure has a great story to tell.

  44. Freakazoid Zach is going to kill Dexter to end the season then Deb kills him. Then Quinn accidentally kills her, then in a fit of sorrow & anger has sex with her dead body which, naturally, leads to triplet undead-vampire babies and then, naturally, to Showtime's competition for "True Blood". Makes sense to me.
