What Made You Sad Today?

My dog ran away. We then found her and my dad said I could not have another pet.

:(

Well, it's a dog and sometimes they run off. I used to have a dog that would take off if we didn't have the fence to the yard closed when he was outside. Some dogs just like to run and explore.

A very close friend of mine, for 32 years, is still in a coma after a stroke nine days ago. I'm so worried about him. He is married and has a six year old daughter. Hell of a Father's Day.

That is very sad. How old is he?

I forgot about this story. His brother and I are two years younger than him. We went to different middle schools but to the same high school. My Freshman year, on the first day of two a days in football, I saw a guy wearing a Hemispheres shirt. I said, "do you like Rush?" He said, hell yes! We have been like brothers ever since. I am as close to the older brother as the younger.

The older I get, the more I am realizing how fragile life is at every moment and at any age.

What's his name? I'll keep him in my prayers.

Well pets are a big responsibility. If your dad doesn't think you are fit to have one then he is wise to put the needs of any animal ahead of his daughter.

Besides, you are only a few years shy of adulthood. When the time comes you will look back and appreciate having such strict parents.

Or you could get some doggie doo, put it in a bag and leave it, after lighting it on fire on your front stoop......(joking!!!)

How can people seem so nice, yet be shoving a knife in your back? To the point of practically having the rest of your family LEAVE YOU? http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Angry/gaah-smiley.gifhttp://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Angry/angrycursing.gif

I think my friend's kid is in the hospital, but I don't know why. Something he put on his Instagram. I guess we will soon find out. I hope it's nothing serious like leukemia or juvenile diabetes.

I did a drawing of Alex, and only a few people liked it. It was the best drawing I have ever done and I thought more than 5 people would like it.

:(

I understand that you just want to be liked and appreciated. But I would like to let you in on a little secret: people don't like it when someone acts all sad and pouty because they didn't get "enough" likes. It's a passive-aggressive ploy for attention, and it's not attractive.

Also, artists need to know that no matter how good their stuff is not everyone is going to like it. There are plenty of masterpieces that don't do anything for me, for instance. If you're going to put any sort of art out there - drawings, music, acting, etc. - you need to be prepared to hear the bad (or nothing at all) as well as the good.

I have seen this happen with the kindest and nicest people I have ever met.

Sometimes people are 'great' until it's their personal interest. When they don't need you, turn their backs.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. :hug2:

Being manipulated by an ex-girlfriend trying to worm her way into the affections of all my friends and now my sister by playing the "pity me...I'm sweet blonde and pretty card" whilst making the girl I am now close to feel like an absolute burden on everyone.

And having all my friends be dumb enough to think this creature is as sweet as she tries to look.

If I wasn't seeing my very best friends who see through her tomorrow I'd lose it.

But at least I can share this burden.

Seriously why do pretty girls think the world revolves around them?

Why do I always go for pretty girls who are absolute cows?

I think I should stay single and take up a life in the mountains.

Because many people are phonies and are adept at being two-faced.

This type is especially prevalent where I live.

I think there are a LOT more of those people around this Earth than we realize....

Yeah, she stalked my son AND my daughter, and now after being told to BACK OFF, has not, and I have no recourse but to cut her out of my life. I think shes probably psychotic or a sociopath.

The post right after yours I just quoted by Segue, is kinda like the situation I'm just out of.....MASTER MANIPULATOR indeed.

My dog died last night. He was a nearly 13 year old Golden Retriever and he had a good life, but man, I'm really gonna miss him. RIP Mojo.

Really sorry for your loss, Stormtron. My dog Mike is getting older; he's a mix of Catahoula and Plott hound. He'll be eleven in a couple of months. He has slowed down, but he's still in very good health, for now. I know I'll never have another dog like him. He is one of a kind, man.

Dogs dying is always so sad.

Catahoula and Plott, wow, those are two breeds that most people have never heard of.

(oh, sorry, no disrespect to those above who lost people family members, of course, even sadder and more awful.)

:rose:

Some of us have experienced both kinds of those losses.

I don't have a way to post my own photos here, but my dog (who looks predominantly like a Plott hound) looks very similar to this one:

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DV1f4DPlXJg/TlvUj2WVgtI/AAAAAAAAAGw/4l3W-lqBodM/s1600/plott-hound.jpg

That dog's ears are longer than my dog's, and my dog's brindle coat has more black than brown in it- but the face and the body look almost identical.
