EagleMoon
I probably average a book a week or so. I always have several going at a time. A couple in my car to read at the park, at the bedside, and in the living room. I love to escape into the pages of a good book.
treeduck
I used to read LOADS I read thousands in the 80's and the 90's and I mean thousands. Around 2000ish I felt a little burned out and took a total break. I read sporadically after that, including my King fest which I made a thread about, that was like 2006. I'm burned out again now...so I won't want to re-read Don DeLillo's Underworld any time soon. It's a good one though actually so read it yourself if you haven't, it's a long one though... AnalyticalEngine
A book a month is typically my quota, but if I really get into a series I can go up to a book a week.
librarian
your username is librarian!! Just giving other people books is the name of the game and just standing around sssshhhing people... I'm the Librarian and the Director of one library with 2 locations. I'm a busy bee.I don't shush anyone. I'm the loudest person I know at work. I read a ton of reviews, blurbs, abstracts and summaries. Reading an entire book takes time. The person that shhhhhss people is usually a clerk. not a librarian. the media portrays librarians wrong all of the time.

laughedatbytime
I used to read a lot of books. Now I pretty much just read stuff on sports and current events on the Internet. Probably 5 a year, mostly for work or on work related topics.

Rick N. Backer
I read 1-2 per month. I trake the train to work, and I'm almost always reading a book. I don't read much once I get home, or on weekends (unless I have to go into work). It usually takes me about 2-3 weeks to get through a book of 400+ pages, which is about the norm for me. I also subscribe to a couple of magazines, so I might take a week off between books.

Union 5-3992
I used to read a lot, then I started reading much longer books. And now college has stopped reading other than for bathroom breaks ha ha
wulfhrafnr
I read most anything I can get my hands on as long as it isn't a romance novel, (can a romance book seriously be considered a novel)? Re-reading A Song of Fire and Ice by George R. R. Martin right now.

HomesickAlien
I probably average a book a week or so. I always have several going at a time. A couple in my car to read at the park, at the bedside, and in the living room. I love to escape into the pages of a good book.  Several years ago I made it a point to read a book per week, but I inevitably buy more than I have the time to read, resulting in a yearly backlog of 20-25 books. At this rate I'll die with shelves full of unread books. Edited April 3, 2013 by substancewithoutstyle

micgtr71
I went conservatively with 51 to 60. I am an English teacher and read about one a week...sometimes every two weeks. I am usually reading essays during the school year. Over the summer I have been known to put one down in a couple of days.
Blue J
Up until a couple of years ago it was in the 40-50 per year range for me, but I've slacked off from that pace since I bought a guitar. I also went back to reading the newspaper every day, after being away from it for a few years. Reading everything I want to read in my paper every day usually takes about an hour, which cuts significantly into the rest of my 'free' time on a daily basis.
