Joesaracer Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I was listening to HF on my iPod today. Halfway through, I shut it off. I like the track a lot, but I may have found my limit. How do you TRFers feel?
PrismEye Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I think it's really fantastic compared to say, Snakes and Arrows (I do love that album, though), but I get what you're saying. If the song had more variation to it and less repeating sections I think it would be more listenable.
Joesaracer Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 Perhaps context will make this song more listenable. The song is a vague recollection of what happened in the character's life. I want to know what he'll never forget and what he will never regret! Context, people. Context!
Alchemical Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 A little bit. Oddly enough, I can still listen to Caravan and BU2B without growing bored.
tas7 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) alchemical Yep, that's how I feel. Edited April 24, 2012 by tas7
go2wrk@95974 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 No..I could probably listen to it all day long, if I had unlimited music time. The tune flat out ROCKS! Best RUSH single in YEARS and YEARS..probably since MP.
Cyclonus X-1 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Nah. I haven't been listening to it all that much, nor have I listened to Caravan or BU2B all that much over the last couple of years, even though I like those last two tunes quite a bit (especially Caravan). I'd like the three of them to seem relatively fresh when I finally get to hear the whole album.
GeddyLeeFender Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Well I try to pace myself when it comes to singles. So I will try to put it away after a few more listens

Analog_Bro Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 It just came out mere days ago! I will not be getting tired of this song for a loonngg time, especially when I will get to play it in the context of a whole album with a storyline

PolarizeMe Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I'll probably listen to it a half a dozen more times before putting it away. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome song, but I want it to sound fresh again along with Caravan and BU2B when the actual album comes out.

treeduck Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 No, because I haven't listened to it 17,000 times in a few days. I listen to other shit too...

I'm not tired of the song, but I sure am tired of all the bickering over it..... It's just ONE song on an album that hasn't even been released yet....

I will admit though, now that I have it on my iPod it will be getting several more listens than it did last week. Edited April 25, 2012 by J2112YYZ

So I can't critique music unless I produce music of similar quality? >_> I know, people here can be silly. I've listened to the song three times, and it's been out for about a week. I am not tired of it, how is that possible? This thread applies to a few, an understandable amount of the people who visit this website: "Are you still constantly listening to HF?"
losingit2k Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 (edited) "Headlong Flight" is in the realm of Freewill! Itshas such great instrumentation that you never get bored of it! Alex, Geddy and Neil were in TOP form on this one! I don't think I'll ever get bored or sick of this song and now that the mix has been cleared up on the download itg sounds even better! Tigershark2112 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 That is the BEST Wonka meme I've seen! FANTASTIC!
An Enemy Without Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Yeah. I could do better with garage band.
Gilbertk Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Yeah.. I want new Rush and HF just makes me want what I can't have yet. I want to listen to HF in context. Right now it's a tease and that's annoying. Still loving Caravan and BU2B though.
