A little bit. Oddly enough, I can still listen to Caravan and BU2B without growing bored.

I got a bit bored with BU2B but have not with Caravan or HF.

Sorry but Headlong Flight doesn't come anywhere near Freewill.

Playing wise it does.

In many ways it surpasses it! Old schooler just don't want to admit that after 30 sum years 2.gif can still produce something that rivals its older material.

After multiple listens, since the day it was released on rolling stone, i can honestly say that I'm totally confused by this song. Sometimes i like it, and sometimes i don't care for it. I think I'm probably trying to like it too much. I really can't put my finger on why I'm not totally getting it. I think the song feels a little forced vocally. Geddy needs to quit trying so hard and just use what he has.

How are people already sick of this song? I, personally, think its amazing, but I know a lot of people on this forum aren't as enthusiastic as I about new Rush music.

They just don't want to admit that 2.gif can produce something that rivals the classics 30+ years down the road! But they have, 3 times already! "Far Cry", "Caravan" and now "Headlong Flight" are instant classics in my book. So don't mind them, they're just stuck in the past!

Ahem...I can say the drum on HF are more difficult than Freewill...and its not close really.

I am not a bass player but those parts sound more difficult as well.

The bass part, no. Freewill is hands down one of Geddy's best performances. Neil however is getting better and better as time passes.

well frequency of play isnt what made me slightly tired of the track... it just isnt a good enough tune.

as a patchwork jam session it works quite well, Alex and Ged energetically doing their thing sounding like only they can sound like, but the general tune just doesnt flow outa the same place bu2b or caravan came from imo

i played bu2b and caravan to death, still do actually, and still not tired of em.... probably in the same way all the other great rush material never tired me......

i can play spirit of radio and get the same groove from it i did like 30 years ago

i kinda got bored with headlong flight after half a dozen plays

no, the rate of play had nothing to do with it in my case, and i suspect the same with most fans who feel the same

it aint the end of the world tho we aint haters we still worship the guys smile.gif

No, because I haven't listened to it 17,000 times in a few days.

I listen to other shit too...

This.

I've been playing it sparingly and savouring each listen.

I've listened to it about 10 times now so definitely not. It's pretty much lodged in my memory now and runs through my head fairly often. And like most of their stuff since the mid 70s it's definitely not a jam song but pretty well structured.

Yes, it's going through my head too like that. Sometimes it morphs into 2 Minutes to Midnight though unsure.gif
