Creed - I freaking loved it. The best Rocky movie since Rocky.

 

Daddy's Home - I can't help it, I laughed a lot.

 

I forgot The Taking of Pelham One Two Three. The gritty Matthau original. A wonderfully dated movie.

Chinatown, 1974. Great film. Best line imo is not "Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown" but rather "Politicians ugly buildings and whores all get respectable if they last long enough." hahaha.

My sister had a copy of it for the longest time and sung its praises even before it won the Oscar for Best Supporting and Lead Actors yet in that time I never watched it for some reason...until now.

This is one of those films that had what I've now coined the "Moonlight Effect"; and that's when an indie film (either literally or in attitude) ends up being such a surprise hit/unexpected success to the point where it won a few Oscars against the Hollywood "establishment". Now, I can see why it McConaughey won the Oscar. And this is just my personal preference, it's films like this (and Ghost World for that matter) that I think are usually hard to sell to the average moviegoers that I'm most drawn to.

 

One of my favourite movies. Jared Leto also deserved his Oscar win.

I like Ghost World a lot, and Happiness is one of my favorites as far as bleak/dark comedies

I really don't like the X-Men films besides X2 and First Class, and I was still surprised at how much I hated this thing. Honestly, I liked The Last Stand more and that was a huge turd itself.

Here's an unfinished, deleted scene that should've been included (after a bit of cgi magic). The fight sequence itself is quality:

 

 

Age of Ultron could've been so much better. I still liked it and thought it was ok with some good moments BUT I think it missed a bunch of golden opportunities.

I liked X2 and Days of Future Past, and thought X1 and First Class were okay.

X3 was crap and yeah Apocalypse was even worse.

 

The first two Wolverine movies were garbage too.

 

I haven't seen Deadpool or Logan.

 

Those are some bad results (for me) for having such a wealth of great characters to choose from.

Night Of The Living Dead

 

Tried this again. Oh my lord it's so boring. I saw this as a kid and it was dull then...

 

I tried to watch Dawn but it's so crap I turned it off.

 

Then...I put on When A Stranger Calls. A really good seventies horror flick!

 

I think old school zombies aren't my thing. A trip to an old people's home is more scary, and the tenants faster.
