Officially added to my list of movies I can watch again and again.

Just watched it again today...a modern classic for sure. I really enjoy the scenes where the characters break the fourth wall - especially Margot Robbie, but please don't tell my wife!

Just got back from the cinema after watching this:

http://www.norwichfilmfestival.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/la-la-land-poster.jpg

This only landed here last week and Mrs. B wanted to go sooooo I went.

I didn't think I'd like this so I hoped it was going to at least be tolerable. Glad to say that it was more than tolerable -- it ended up being a good watch and got better as it progressed.

Side note: Nearly all of the comedy was lost on the audience here. It often happens in many other movies actually (cultural differences and/or American pop culture references being the main reasons)...I was often the only one laughing in the audience for this. Fine by me. Just sayin'.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I remember seeing this as a kid and having the LP because there was a couple of songs that I liked. Overall though I still have the same opinion I had as a kid, not one of Disney's better offerings. It was trying to be Mary Poppins with a twist but just didn't quite make it.

Manchester by the Sea.

Very powerful and touching film. Felt homesick during the whole viewing. I love New England. Performances were spot on with regard to the Boston culture imo. Casey Affleck was a well deserving oscar winner.

Agreed. One of the few Disney movies we didn't keep on VHS and I have never felt compelled to get it on DVD.

Mary Poppins on the other hand...masterpiece whichever way you look at it!

First time watching this. Good movie but damn that ending is bleak!

Saw this a while ago. The ending was a shocker, a bit bleak as you say. It left an impression on me, ending especially, didn't expect it to go that way/far .

Great film.

Not shocking for me since I've seen it referenced so many times and even in a Simpsons episode. Also has the classic "My sister my daughter!" scene. God knows how many times MST3K has referenced that one.

Logan

DEFINITELY not for the younger ones. Quite a few beheadings.

Didn't know that was out yet. It's certainly not out yet over here. Maybe 3-6 more months?

How was it? I have no faith in it as none of the Wolverine movies have been good. I don't even like girl Wolverine in the comics!

Imagine if Peckinpah directed an X Men movie.

Well, I've only got The Wild Bunch to judge him on...which I liked. However, I'm not sure what to make of that. I know the movie is loosely based on the Old Man Logan comic which is an excellent story BUT there are too many important elements of that that couldn't possible be in the movie (a villainous & cannibalistic Hulk, numerous non-X-Men Marvel characters).

Really skeptical about this despite the amped up violence.

It was shocking in the sense of, I didn't want it to go that way. Subject matter, certainly nothing new. :sundog:

Haven't seen it but i've seen the Nostalgia Critic review and it looks awful. What the hell was the late Abe Vigoda doing in this movie? How did you go from Godfather to this?

Still not as bad as Pacino in Jack And Jill, though.

From what I remember, (it's been awhile since mine watched it :) ) it wasn't horrible, just aimed at about 10 yr olds. :D :D
