I love that KISS and Rush have this relationship so many years onward, but really...

KISS chose to look like a theatrical act with costumes but the music was fairly simple (ouch? = but catchy, so catchy!).

Rush chose kimonos, literally the lightest material you can wear as a costume.

So yes Geddy would faint with Gene's armour, but Gene would faint trying to trigger all the sounds and hit all the right buttons as a trio that sounded like ten people rocking the stage.

 

Edit: They have similarities, interesting to me, family histories of concentration camps, both of (mixed) Jewish descent, both bassists...

But, no where near the similarities of being instrumentalists, more alike as awesome stage performers in their own ways.

No, I haven't. This was about ten years ago. She looked very, very good, even as an older woman just waiting for a latte. I'm at least fifteen years younger but she still caught my eye. I think I caught hers too -- at least that's how I remember it.

There was that story in the music press a few years back about how Gene had escorted Nancy Lee into his dressing room and left Geddy locked outside. You'd think they wouldn't have got along so well after that!

That's why I play onstage nude. More mobility, less sweat. My drummer doesn't like it, though.

Yes, it's extremely fortunate that Geddy is so talented. An accomplished musician, singer, writer. Otherwise, he might have to dress up in a silly costume and wear goofy make-up so as to distract fans from a lack of talent.
