If The Beatles (White Album), had been it a single album (so a roughly 45 minute album with 15 songs) which 15 songs out of the 30 would you choose to be on this hypothetical single album version?

Here's my choices:

Back in the U.S.S.R.

Dear Prudence

Glass Onion

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Happiness Is a Warm Gun

Blackbird

Piggies

Why Don't We Do it in the Road?

Birthday

Yer Blues

Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey

Helter Skelter

Long, Long, Long

Savoy Truffle

Ditch Yer Blues. Add Don't Pass Me By. Now you got it.

Outside of Wild Honey Pie and Revolution 9, I really don't see another 8 I could cut without it being a totally random selection.

100% agree. As is usually the case with Beatles posts here, I just love too many of their songs to leave others out in a list. Not a knock on the posts cuz I think this one in particular is quite creative. I just have lived and breathed the band since I saw them on THAT day in 1964 and there are only a few of their songs that I don't care for. Rick named 2 on his post. All Together Now is another but really I'm guessing off the top of my head I love 90% of their catalog.

Back In The USSR

Dear Prudence

Glass Onion

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Happiness Is A Warm Gun

I'm So Tired

Blackbird

Piggies

I Will

Julia

Mother Nature's Son

Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me and My Monkey

Helter Skelter

Savoy Truffle

Cry Baby Cry

Some of the other 15 were hard cuts for sure...but I was happy to give the axe to both Honey Pies (particularly Wild), Bungalow Bill and Rocky Racoon, all of which I find actively annoying.

Ditto. They went straight to the walls of my bedroom.

I was in 6th grade so too early for weed for me.

A fair question, but personally I think, fractured and hodgepodge as it can be, the White Album works best as a double. The Beatles just relentlessly trying every idea they can think of and getting lost in their own personal rabbit holes. The sound of a band about ready to crack, but never more creative.

15 tracks. This would not, IMO, improve this album. In fact, it leaves A LOT of great music on the cutting room floor.

Don't think I've heard more than a couple of songs off it....

Fridge you would've liked this.

Oasis planned to issue an unreleased archive collection featuring Beatles and George Harrison covers

Noel and Liam's feuding put an end to it… for now

Sounds like my idea of audio hell

What a pair of c***s....
