  1. Watched The Marvels. It was a steaming pile. You could see Samuel Jackson just dying inside.
  2. I think he replicated so many of the sounds of the keyboard era perfectly.
  3. I think it was the Ged audio book that did it for me RD. It was so well done - and I found myself deeply reflective after I finished - thinking of the band and the tremendous positive influence it had on my young, loner-kid life. I had an opportunity to see Geddy with Jack Black in Los Angeles, but I was weirdly ok about missing it. I didn’t feel the need to go, and felt like it was covered so well in Geddy’s reading of his tome. And I know I’m one of them, but I don’t think I was ready to hang with a bunch of teary eyed, aging white dudes. God bless each and every one of them. Geddy’s book offered perfect closure, and was much better than what a farewell tour would’ve attempted to do.
  4. Pegi passing away might have an effect on any announcements for a bit.
  5. I love Rush. Incredible players. But Van Halen - on a lark - convincingly performed Big Bad Bill. I don’t think Rush has a curveball like that.
  6. Or perhaps “Insurrection.”
  7. ADKOT easily better than all those records. Though I will say OU812 has some great shit on it. And that tour was the first concert I ever saw. THAT changed my life. Incredible. For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge is half good. Balance is mostly terrible. ADKOT is a band reignited. You and Your Blues is the best VH song since 5150.
  8. I am loving the 3 new songs. Especially Panic Attack which harkens a bit back to Painkiller in nothing but good ways. A little Tom Sawyer homage in there too me thinks!
  9. Have you guys heard this? There are some frickin gems on here. Really enjoying it. The song selection is killer. https://rushfestscotland.bandcamp.com/album/tributes-songs-for-neil-volume-iv
  10. The Creator. Absolutely loved it.
  11. Interesting. I found the Popoff books extremely detailed regarding the band’s processes in the studio. I’d call those books pretty definitive if you wanted to learn more about Rush’s creative approaches. I used to think Popoff was a dopey hanger-on. But those three Rush books are excellent. Now ALEX needs to write a book.
  12. Call it Rush. And calling it Rush helps sell tickets and carries the legacy. No brainer.
  13. I really like both tracks.
  14. Sure as far as chops but Alex is more interesting nonetheless. No way Lerxst could play Shyboy but Vai would never come up with the solo to Limelight. Or the intro to SOR. When challenged to be simple, Vai fails I think. Lerxst will take a simple riff and make it his.
  15. I think Lerxst is right where he needs to be. I don’t think he’s been underrated. So many guitar players have praised him.
  16. Why can’t I laugh and also like a post?!
  17. yeah. Feels like Sam is walking it all back, though I guess he didn’t specifically invite Roth to tour. But I guess Roth wasn’t really specific either. it certainly sounded like Sam was inviting him to to tour to me, but yeah that was more wishful thinking in my part.
