Sad news....the funkmeister himself.....I always used to get a chuckle at the little nod to "Dance to the Music" at the end of Over my Head by KIngs X
-
Whether it happens or not is a moot point....I think the existing mix works pretty well, but I don't think they quite achieved the sound they were going for.....on close listen, Alex's guitars are possibly even more bombastic than they were on MP...I hink they wanted to created this seamless hybrid between guitars and keys that would allow both to shine, but unfortunately the mix became a bit muddy and the keys dominated.....pulling the keys back a little would really enhance it imo, and it's possibly the only remix (along with Presto and S&A) I would entertain.

Thanks for the feedback John, appreciated Waving White is indeed a Jer song Perfect is actually mine, a departure from my usual style EoN the guitar is by Jers friend who recently passed and who the album is dedicated to FW is Jers Jetsam is one of mine...thanks for the comments! Zero Sum...yup, Jers New Army is mine, it does sound a bit different on playback...unintentional and it was written recently. Face Down is Mikes No Retreat is mine and yes the harmony parts were a bit of self indulgence! Maria is mine too, I will never knock a Jimi comparison Fever Dream....another of mine, a bit of gothic ott stuff Happy Idea...a great Jeremy closer. -

That's number 11 now mate, with no signs of the "Rocket Sauce" drying up. -
Well well, it's that time again...time for what you say?.....time for a new Sloppy Foot Cowboys album of course! Latest offering is called Ear Potatoes (ask PM&S SMH)...one of the tracks (Enormity of Now) has the guitar of a recently departed friend of Jers and the album is dedicated to his memory. Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.....feedback is of course very welcome as always. https://sloppyfootcowboys.bandcamp.com/album/ear-potatoes

Hmmmm....why is the guy playing a bunch of stuff from LVS when the Sportscaster wasn't even used on that album as it didn't exist then?

Sad news.....His version of Phantom of the Opera will always be the definitive one. Two cracking albums

Interesting point....I was recording some bass earlier, and this post made me think about it and I noticed that my hand would frequently wander to the knobs in the lulls in the notes as a sort of unconsious time keeping excercise....I think it's that and nothing more, as there doesn't seem to be any tonal/volume bass changes in the parts Geddy does descbibed above.

You're either a rather unsuccessful troll, an idiot, or both....I'm not quite sure which yet.

You're reading waaayyyy too much into this.....all Neil is refering to is the light that has been reflected three times.....sun to earth, earth to moon and moon back to earth again....the fact he uses a quasi-religious term to express it is purely poetic licence.
-
That's an important point actually......particularly in the early albums Geddy will have written a fair percentage of guitar lines....because he was such a monster on the bass, he must be at least a competent guitarist, and probably a pretty good one.

Sure, I bet the wartime comic hero could spank his plank

Lifeson by a country mile.......yes, Page has an undoubted influence, but I just don't idolise him the way others do.

New Sloppy Foot Cowboys - Straitjacket

Thanks for the feedback John and taking the time to listen, and believe me, any praise for my guitar playing from a player like yourself is very much appreciated!....I loved RP1 and enjoyed the Lifesonesque approach to the guitar work. -

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days, so first time seeing this....Really appreciate your time here Jim in listening and commenting, and believe me, praise from such an accomplished player as yourself re guitar playing is very gratifying indeed....it's by no means a perfect album, but we're proud of it and it's great that there's something for everyone here. -
Hey folks...our 9th and latest offering...as usual, feel free to listen and constructive feedback always welcome https://sloppyfootcowboys.bandcamp.com/album/straitjacket

When I started working in Casualty then Psychiatric wards.....long hair was far too easy a target for aggressive drunks and mentally disturbed people. After having several clumps painfully pulled out by the roots I though f**k it and started using clippers.

Greatest Pop Song EVER: Reflex or Blank Space?
Fridge replied to JohnRogers's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Neither...that title was claimed long ago by ABBA's SOS.... -
Very nice Stephen, great job with the vocal production, you achieved both warmth and clarity....heartfelt message lyrically too. Still hearing a hint of The Big O in your voice which is certainly no bad thing! Lovely acoustic guitar tone too.
