TIER 8: The Truly Elite. I hate leaving this thread on silent, but I'll make sure to post at least a few if I can. 50. “The Anarchist” (Clockwork Angels (2012) - 9 of 11) Some of the best songwriting this album has yet to offer, delivering a whole punch of various Lifeson riffs that hit so hard every time listening. The hooks, the arrangements, and the production all work well for this track. One of the best conceptual ideas in this album, leaving me with lots of extra psychological thinking. One of the heaviest and proggiest tracks from later Rush for sure. 49. “Middletown Dreams” (Power Windows (1985) - 5 of 8) By and far one of the most underappreciated tracks of this era. The main synth and vocal melodies are quite fun, alongside some of Lifeson's most underrated work on the album, particularly with the solos. I love how the song progresses to a high point, leaving more and more wondrous thoughts of imagination. As someone living in a somewhat-ish rural place, this song hits just too close to home for me.

Saving this post for the next nights... "Xanadu" could be swapped with "The Camera Eye", but maybe not likely. "Limelight' should stay, but not sure what song would replace it. Maybe "Closer to the Heart"? "Far Cry" may likely be replaced with "One Little Victory", or maybe a song from Clockwork Angels like "Headlong Flight." "Subdivisions" will likely stay, with maybe a surprising synth-era song replacing it. "Freewill" will most likely stay, but I can see some surprises like "The Trees", "A Passage to Bangkok," or even "Witch Hunt" taking over. "Bravado" could definitely get replaced with "The Pass", but it would be really sweet if it were also something like "Mission" or "Ghost Rider". "Caravan" could likely get replaced by "One Little Victory", another song from Clockwork Angels, or maybe we may hear "Driven" or "Animate" "La Villa Strangiato" I can see staying, although I have a hard time picturing what song would take its place. "Cygnus X-1"? "Vital Signs" may have been spoiled for "Anthem", but I don't really expect this one to stay all throughout either way. Maybe we can hear "Bastille Day"? "The Spirit of Radio" will likely stay. I don't think "2112" will be replaced, but if they play more parts from it, that'd be cool too. "Distant Early Warning" can get replaced by a track like "A Farewell to Kings", "The Big Money", or even "Force Ten" "Red Barchetta" will likely be replaced by maybe "Cygnus X-1" or "Jacob's Ladder" "Dreamline" will likely be swapped by "Animate", "Marathon", or "Show Don't Tell" "Natural Science" may be swapped with "Jacob's Ladder" or "The Camera Eye" "Time Stand Still" will likely stay, but idk if they will include Aimee Mann again... "Red Sector A" could be swapped with "Marathon", or maybe if I dream hard enough, "Mystic Rhythms" "YYZ", "The Garden", and "Tom Sawyer" will likely stay. For their encore: "By-Tor and the Snow Dog" and "Working Man" will likely be replaced with the likes of "Closer to the Heart" or even some medleys of "Anthem", "Fly By Night", "In the Mood", "Garden Road", or "Finding My Way"
