Texas King
For me it has to be Dirt, closely followed by Ten.Badmotorfinger is third and Nevermind distant fourth.

J2112YYZ
I would vote for Dirt but it's not grunge. It's metal all the way. Same with Badmotorfinger.

Rick N. Backer
Of these, Ten. I prefer Facelift and Superunknown from AiC and Soundgarden, respectively. Nevermind vs. in Utero is a tough call.
Lucas
If by "grunge era" you mean the early 1990s, my favorite album would be "Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell" by Social Distortion

Blue J
I would vote for Dirt but it's not grunge. It's metal all the way. Yeah, it's more metal than grunge. But I vote for it among these four, anyway. One of the best of the whole era.

cygnify
Of these 4, which were all Seattle bands lumped into the "grunge" label: Dirt by a mile! then Ten then Badmotorfinger. and a distant 4th to Nevermind
thirteen
Alice in Chains - Facelift.10/10I wouldn't call it Grunge though TBH, just a great heavy/hard rock album.

I just listened to it a few days ago. I'm not sure if it's better than Dirt but it might be. And yeah, about the hard rock album comment.
ozzy85
Of the four, Badmotorfinger. But my favourite of the era is Screaming Trees "Sweet Oblivion". Great album, indeed. I owned it, forever ago. I remember buying it on cassette when it came out and listening to it in the parking lot in my Dart before leaving. Love Soundgarden. Dirt is just too depressing to me. goose
Four very different albums, and all four have held up very well. I went with Dirt, as I think it's the most solid beginning to end...and although Badmotorfinger is the most challenging listen for me, it probably has the best standout "moments". Those were four fantastic bands.

Mystic Slipperman
I voted Ten, but as time goes by, I think Superunknown is my favorite album of the "genre" so to speak...
