Rush - PLEASE officially retire...

Just finished watching the R40 DVD. I now realize what a huge mistake it would be for the guys to come back with another album or another tour (even a small, scaled down one.)

Rush is the best rock band ever… in my opinion, at least. I’ve seen 28 shows since 1976… only missed three tours. And, I want to remember them as they were - at the TOP of their game - not some old dudes who are trying hard, but not really doing it.

If you're old enough, do you remember watching Mohammed Ali for his last few fights? I don’t want the guys in Rush to pull an Ali. I also don’t want to see them relegated to the casino circuit or playing festivals. Or, worse, playing on “package tours” along side other bands that were once great.

Rush is over… let’s be happy we saw them when we did. Think about the song, "Losing it."

Count me in for a Styx/Rush/Journey/Kansas tour package in 2019. Who´s with me???

At which casino?

Leary is a joke thief!!!! Bill Hicks took all Leary's new material with him when he died which is why he doesn't do stand-up anymore!

 You might have forgotten Foreigner . . . .

And REO Speedwagon.

Although I must say Styx still put on a heck of a show. Hate DeYoung is not there but Lawrence Gowan does a fine job.

For "all intents and purposes" Rush is retired. Perhaps a one off like the SARS charity show, that would be a long shot. And most likely that would be "Geddy n Alex of Rush." Even longer would be a brief stint, mostly in Europe, to say the farewell they never got to over there since Neil insisted on no R40 second leg. In this alternate reality, since there would be very few shows, demand would be overwhelming. Even el Presidente will want to attend.

No need to worry about them hitting the casino circuit.

I thought it was pretty obvious that they have at least retired from the road. We all know that Neil physically can't keep doing it and who knows how long it will be before Geddy's voice is completely gone. They may still owe the record company an album or two though since they signed a new deal before CA was released. Unless live albums/compilations have fulfilled that obligation.

More than likely they're done.

Duran Duran and Kiss can join...make it 7 band extravaganza.

Each getting exactly 34 minutes of stage time

NO

Rush can do whatever they want.

If they are done, that is fine, but if they want to continue, it is their choice, not ours.

I like it when little girls go apeshit. :16ton:

What the f**k are u talking about?? I am not going ape shit.

I don't believe you little girl!

Are The Who, the Stones, Paul McCartney or Neil Young playing the casino circuit or package tours?

Although I don't they will go out on the road again, as a live act they are in the company of those other greats.
