Freewill (I get the love, just don't share it, despite Alex's amazing guitar) * Not a pity vote, the outro solo is one of my favorite all-time Rush moments; back as a Rush-obsessed 14 year-old, I thought when I first heard it, wow, Rush is an "adult" rock band now, not just a band for sci-fi obsessed teens and proggy metal heads. Beautiful song all around. In fact, when I meet someone who I think has good taste in music but hasn't heard Rush beyond their FM radio standards, Different Strings is one of the songs I'll recommend. (Average placements in parentheses) 1. Natural Science (2.14285)2. The Spirit Of Radio (2.65062)3. Freewill (3.05000)4. Jacob's Ladder (3.55000)5. Entre Nous (4.57500)6. Different Strings (5.80000) Final anecdotes: -Different Strings. Poor, poor Different Strings. The song had an average placement of 5.5 midway through the polls, and that number only sank to 5.8. In fact, it was ranked #6 an astonishing 11 consecutive times at one point. Still a great song nonetheless. -Jacob's Ladder managed to stay away from the bottom quite well, being ranked sixth only once in 40 polls. Again, thanks to everyone who took their time to vote. Also, with 40 rankings done, I think the numbers show that each tune is firmly entrenched in their placement. That is, there were no neck and neck races for first place or second or whatever. Even though Al obviously majestic throughout album i get off on just the percussion and/or geds bass in different strings is beautiful man.
