this was another one I used to stare at all day. art by the great HR Giger who was responsible for the design of the Alien movies.

and with early versions of the album, the front cover opened up to reveal

Blue Oyster Cult- "Secret Treaties"

Got this on import when it was first released - amazing songs/lyrics which started my love affair with this band. For me an iconic album cover from a band I just had to investigate further!

A work of art.

I was obsessed with Sargent Pepper also. I was 10 years old when it came out, with 3 years of hard core Beatles following under my belt. This was the new look of the Beatles (first time public moustaches/Lennon glasses). When the Paul is dead rumour came out, the cover supposedly offered clues. Example: the younger Beatles were looking down into a grave, the yellow flowers shaped like a left handed bass, etc. One false clue from the inside picture was the OPP patch on Paul's arm. OPP = Ontario Provincial Police. The rumour was that it said OPD (officially pronounced dead), but that's just the angle of the picture.

Terry Kath's years, the Real Chicago.

We had this on 8 track. Used to listen to it when going to the beach.

Awesome.. I loved Chicago with Terry Kath and had all their albums. That brings back memories.

8 track tapes - that was new technology back then.... Everyone had a player installed in their car.

I heard that the guy holding his hand over Paul's head meant something to, but I'm not sure of the significance.

I was more obsessed with Abbey Road. There are clues there too. Paul is the deceased. George is the grave digger. Ringo and John are the pallbearers (ha, Paul-bearers). The license plate on the VW reads 281F, but was mistaken for 28 IF, the age Paul would have been had he not "died". There may be more, but I can't remember.

A couple of more clues in the Abbey Road cover are that Paul was barefoot (supposedly some cultures bury their dead barefoot), and he was holding a cigarette in his right hand, but he is left handed, so it had to be an imposter.
