clem
between all 19 Rush studio albums -OR- their 9 live albums, which would you choose? Personally, I'd go with the 9 live albums. Yeah, there'd be some good songs missing, but there's something about a live show that really makes these guys really shine. In case you're wondering, the nine live albums (according to Rhapsody and I-tunes) are ATWAS, E...SL, ASOH, DS, GUP Live, RiR, R30Live, S&A Live, and TM. Dang! that's a lot of live material!) ColdFireYYZ
Easily the studio albums. Most of their live recordings sound almost identical to the studio versions and there's a ton of songs that I like that aren't represented on the live albums. Union 5-3992
A Farewell To Kings, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, & Counterparts. I'd also throw in Clockwork Angels because it would give me plenty of time to get used to it.
Cyclonus X-1
I'd go with the studio stuff. The live albums are great, but going with them would mean a lot of redundancy from one release to the next, and way too many good tunes would be sacrificed. Godot
A lot of the live albums feature the same songs SOTR, Limelight, CTTH, TS, etc. I'd rather have every song (though I would miss the solos on leave that thing alone, and O'Malley's break)
Union 5-3992
Whoops, misread. I thought choose a few of each albums. Then I would definitely choose the studio albums.
apetersvt
So easy for me. The studio albums. Being a huge fan of the epics, I would miss out on Necromancer, Lamneth, and Hemispheres. I don't need 8 versions of Tom Sawyer.
ReRushed
Without question, the studio albums.

Being a huge fan of the epics, I would miss out on Necromancer, Lamneth, and Hemispheres. I don't need 8 versions of Tom Sawyer. this, the studio albums most definitely. Although, If I could chose 9 bootlegs, that would make me ponder this choice a bit more.....
