What a resumé of great films and performances! We could talk all day about his films.

So many great movies with Lawrence Kasdan. He had a great run from Body Heat to Grand Canyon. Hurt had a good against type supporting role in the criminally underrated I Love You to Death.

RIP

His performance as brother Richie in A History of Violence was captivating. A total sociopath!

A great legacy left for us, from some all-time classic films up to recent low-key appearances in shows like Humans and Goliath. Always a great watch. Personally, I`ll take History of Violence as a favourite. In one scene for a few minutes, but it makes the movie. RIP.

RIP, Willam Hurt. :rose: He was so good in Body Heat; excellent performance. Very good in Gorky Park as well. I saw him in Avengers Endgame a few years ago but that role didn't stand out as much to me. He will be missed!

He played that role in Incredible Hulk as well replacing Sam Elliot in the first one.

I streamed the first 30 minutes of Smoke with Harvey Keitel on Showtime a few days ago which is a good indie movie so far. I usually watch ones about to expire at month's end so I'll finish it eventually.

I'm sorry, to hear, see, and read this. He was an excellent actor, who was in some classic, and memorable movies. He will be missed, and remembered. My condolences, and sympathies to his family, and friends. R.I.P., William. Edited by Derek19

This quote from William Hurt reminded me of another certain guy we know/knew:

“I’m a very private man, and I have the right to be. I never said that because I was an actor you can have my privacy, you can steal my soul. You can’t.”

Smoke is a great movie. It stays with you.

An acting treasure. Along with performances already mentioned, he was great in in the Big Chill.

When I first started posting on Rotten Tomatoes forums in 2007, my first user ID was JT Lancer, named after the guy Tom Berenger's charcter plays.
