Principled Man Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 What a resumé of great films and performances! We could talk all day about his films. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PssfKo9hsQQ/UaSLKB-zrLI/AAAAAAAAEz0/GHkogiJuAZs/s1600/William+Hurt.jpg 1
invisible airwave Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 So many great movies with Lawrence Kasdan. He had a great run from Body Heat to Grand Canyon. Hurt had a good against type supporting role in the criminally underrated I Love You to Death. RIP 1
Principled Man Posted March 13, 2022 Author Posted March 13, 2022 His performance as brother Richie in A History of Violence was captivating. A total sociopath! http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ucAE_GrFrfM/S6vCC6jappI/AAAAAAAAEU0/wlY-DOXQ-xE/s1600/WilliamHurt_Violence.jpg 2
treeduck Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 RIP good actor, and 72 is not that old these days. 1
IbanezJem Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 A great legacy left for us, from some all-time classic films up to recent low-key appearances in shows like Humans and Goliath. Always a great watch. Personally, I`ll take History of Violence as a favourite. In one scene for a few minutes, but it makes the movie. RIP.
78jazz Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 He gave an excellent performance in Altered States. RIP. 5
pjbear05 Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Best Actor Oscar for Kiss Of The Spider Woman in 1985.RIP, William.
blueschica Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 RIP, Willam Hurt. :rose: He was so good in Body Heat; excellent performance. Very good in Gorky Park as well. I saw him in Avengers Endgame a few years ago but that role didn't stand out as much to me. He will be missed! 1
invisible airwave Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 http://youtu.be/ql6pYxks6-0 "I never killed nobody neither. So what? How hard can it be?"
invisible airwave Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 (edited) RIP, Willam Hurt. :rose: He was so good in Body Heat; excellent performance. Very good in Gorky Park as well. I saw him in Avengers Endgame a few years ago but that role didn't stand out as much to me. He will be missed! He played that role in Incredible Hulk as well replacing Sam Elliot in the first one. I streamed the first 30 minutes of Smoke with Harvey Keitel on Showtime a few days ago which is a good indie movie so far. I usually watch ones about to expire at month's end so I'll finish it eventually. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_uXZZRpO-E Edited March 14, 2022 by invisible airwave 2
Derek19 Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 (edited) I'm sorry, to hear, see, and read this. He was an excellent actor, who was in some classic, and memorable movies. He will be missed, and remembered. My condolences, and sympathies to his family, and friends. R.I.P., William. Edited March 14, 2022 by Derek19
chemistry1973 Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 How sad is this. The dude was a great actor. Big fan. Not a guy you would catch overacting too much.
chemistry1973 Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Remember when he was almost killed by a f***ing train?!?
dream & vapour Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 This quote from William Hurt reminded me of another certain guy we know/knew: “I’m a very private man, and I have the right to be. I never said that because I was an actor you can have my privacy, you can steal my soul. You can’t.”

goose Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 An acting treasure. Along with performances already mentioned, he was great in in the Big Chill. :rose: 2
invisible airwave Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 An acting treasure. Along with performances already mentioned, he was great in in the Big Chill. :rose: When I first started posting on Rotten Tomatoes forums in 2007, my first user ID was JT Lancer, named after the guy Tom Berenger's charcter plays.
