OU812 was recorded in a hurry. I think they were taking their time to hone the songs for the album, and suddenly they got an offer to play at the Monsters of Rock with the Scorpions, Metallica and Kingdom Come, and the record company demanded that they put it out before that short tour. I think it's the last album to truly feature the brown sound, and after that he started using the Peavey Wolfgang. Awesome guitar, but a different ball game altogether.

My favorite from OU812, on a kick ass version here, with Eddie sporting a "where's Waldo" shirt, Sammy in spandex and everyone firing on all cylinders:

Band is tight as a drum in this era. Just killer. Maybe too tight.

It was also my first concert.

32 years ago. almost to the day. Hartford Civic Center, 1988. With Private Life!

For a while I was wondering why Sammy looks weird these days, I think it's his nose, it seems to grown to twice the size in the last 20 years.

It`s full of his dodgy Tequila!

People change as they grow old. Neil had a red nose in his last years in Rush, didn't he?

He was less recognizable from his younger self than Hagar is.

Hagar still has the hair (most of it anyway).

Sorry Rod. I misread your post. I was in a hurry this morning because I had to go to the pharmacy to buy diabetic supplies for my mom.

New video from Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony posted yesterday.

I don't like that he's playing concerts right now...but generally I think Sammy is a really down to earth guy and he could not have been sweeter in this message. So good to hear from Michael Anthony as well. I can't even imagine what it must've felt like to play that song that night. If I were in their shoes, I'm not sure I could've done it.

They just played Panama during the Bears-Bucs broadcast! :D-13:

Yeah, but we have to listen to Joe Buck . . . .

Hahaha! Becky! I love you! Joe Buck is TERRIBLE!

And his head is shaped like a chewed winegum.

I used to listen to this song repeatedly . It's like a lullaby. My own personal VH dream was to perform a duet of this song with Sammy.

I guess I'm not the only one at this forum with broken dreams. LOL I like ballads. I'm such a girl. Here is Eddie playing the piano like a boss.

Sammy's bands are side project circle jerks. Beach concerts and odd performances, and his vocals are weird, his voice goes through his tequila-enlarged nose these days. He needs to go solo or retire, but actually playing with the Circle and Chickenfoot IS being retired.

Oh I've got nothing against him playing with whoever he wants playing whatever songs he wants. He's Sammy Hagar, if not quite a living legend then pretty dang close. I just disagree with putting on rock concerts during the pandemic. But then hey, I didn't see what the crowd looked like, and it was outside. I'm probably overthinking it.

Sammy's ok because no one is surely going to turn up for that Cabo Wabo turkey shit! Sammy needs to put ice on his nose and get back to normal size.

Thank you Pat!!!! He says that he plays "early Samny? MY ASS!!!!!! His Circle Jerk Performances are boring and uninspired. He has a great band they put on a snooze fest.

I was very happy before Covid when it was going to be

Sammy Circle

Whitesnake

Night Ranger

Meaning I would have gone back to the casino after Whitesnake.

I wouldn't waste my time seeing Sammy ever again unless he brings back his old band from the Capital early Geffen Daze.

Kind of funny. The punk band Circle Jerks has a great album called "Wonderful." There is a song on there they wrote to pay homage to Sammy and METAL.

"American Heavy Metal Weekend."

It rocks!
