grep
Not seeing many #covidiots postings accompanying videos of rioters. I guess the virus can’t be transmitted while looting a CVS. Oh, it can and it likely already has. We're f***ed. Then why haven't Drs. Fauci and Birx been on TV telling people the risk they're creating? Why when I watch the news coverage of the riots don't I hear much talk about the lack of "social distancing?" Last night here in the Boston area protestors gathered in a group larger than 10 (by about 500) outside a Boston Police station. One officer took a knee at the protestors' request and held hands with some of the protestors. The news anchor showing the footage talked about how poignant the moment was. Of course, on my morning run I still see people cross the street to avoid being less than 10 yards away from another person. My point is more about the rank hypocrisy here. Are the authorities only going to enforce the rules against people who are inclined to follow them? 5000 protestors aren't being called #covidiots but 20 people in a pool are? Why is that? I don't have a good answer. It's obvious that there's greater chance for spread in a large group that isn't taking precautions. Why the media doesn't point this out with regularity? IDK. It has been mentioned in some coverage I've seen. Also, interestingly, many protestors do wear masks. We all react differently to things. Some pay attention, some don't. grep
And just to add, grep - even if it HAD gone up tenfold and the hospitals had been overwhelmed, staying inside and waiting for a vaccine is not valid. As I posted earlier, how is that AIDS vaccine coming along? What about the malaria vaccine? Nope none for that either... And if the US has 30,000 new cases per day it seems to me that it would take almost 25 years to get herd immunity. So are you going to stay in until a vaccine comes along or we get herd immunity? I'm not planning on dying anytime soon. I've fought too hard to get along and survive this far. Not gonna' let this thing take me out.Well if you consider hiding in your house and not doing anything but cowering in fear "living" then live away. That's your choice and I support you choosing whatever you choose to do. Just don't dictate that I have to live with the same baseless fear as you. This is great. you don't know exactly how I'm handling it, what my strategy and tactics are specifically. You keep asking, I'll keep being evasive. :)Because you are a fear mongering tool. If you had any facts on your side, you would be happily spraying them out right here. I'm sure when the numbers to go up (yep! Even I think they will potentially!) you will come here and say the world is ending.I'll be alive in 600 days.Don't be so sure. Sitting on your ass in your house can contribute to a much bigger killer - heart disease. Fear mongering tool. LMAO. OK then, I label you as someone who minimizes the threat because you have something to lose because of it. That's the drive for your perceptions, as I see it based on your writing style, anger, and the aspects of the problems you focus on. Good thing for you someone like me can't enforce my will. Plus, yeah I'll be here in 2 years. and 10 years, and 20. I'm a survivor, buddy. Edited June 3, 2020 by grep

The people who have invested the most energy in being critical of others like to say things like "Because SCIENCE!" The virus, of course, doesn't care WHY people are gathered together, and doesn't respond differently based upon what the reason is. And while wearing masks is one element of the protocols, I note that stores and businesses have been closed because of the (we're told) more important concern of people being too close together. It's why churches can only fill to 25% capacity. Hard to get much closer than the protestors have been.

vaportrailer
Thank God people like you can't impose your will against people like me, at least not in my country. This is just bad poetic form. We can make it rhyme: You can't imposeyour will against me,at least - thank God -in my country. Or maybe as an Ogden Nashesque limerick: There once was a man with a beardWho said "It is just as I feared!People like meIn my countryFind your thoughts and opinions weird." Thank God that people like youCannot impose your spewOn people like mein this, my country,Oops, can't talk, I gotta poo. Impose your danceThe heebee Bee Gees danceIn my country, (t)Revolt-uhthe ‘t’ is silent - Walt Whitman http://youtu.be/LUID0jSh2Ic Ooh, Whitman! Nice! I don't think we have to go any farther than the first two lines of "Song of Myself": "I celebrate myself, and sing myself,And what I assume you shall assume" Re: Ravolta... There once was a man named John,Who loved and believed in L. Ron;He worked with Fred Durst,Producing the worstpile of stinking cinematic garbage that was ever thrust into my eye and the eye of my mind.
Rick N. Backer
https://www.marketwa...ends-2020-06-03 “As abstinence in the form of strict adherence to stay-at-home orders is widely viewed as an unacceptable response, tantamount to silence or inaction, harm reduction during and following these protests will reduce the risk of SARS-COV-2 spread in our communities,” officials at the Los Angeles-based health system wrote. I thought that one reason for the stay-at-home orders was the risk people might present to others if they contract the virus? I'm concerned that either way this goes, public confidence in public health officials will be undermined. If we see a spike in cases, they were hypocrites for not telling people not to protest right now. If we don't, they were wrong for supporting draconian lockdowns.

Laurabw
I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry this morning. I was talking to my very elderly mom (haven't been able to visit yet :( ) and she says, "Our neighbor crocheted a mask for me!" WTF? There's holes all over those things! Luckily my mom said it is itchy and she is not planning on wearing it! You could put a coffee filter or just another square of cloth in it.
