  3. I don't think he's a bad singer at all. Tate was only part of the problem with Queensryche. Without Degarmo the band is just generic. It doesn't matter who the singer is when the guy who was the main creative force of the band is no longer there.

  4. I don't know if the following point was already made on this thread - Eddie Van Halen was more than a guitarist. He was a composer. Melody and rhythm were up there with the solos and tone.

  7. The silly side of being a Van Halen fan/fanatic: Finding Eddie's childhood home and taking a photograph of it. People have been gathering there..... :o

  8. I'm not. I thought there were at least a few more TRFers than just 1 (current # of Bruce votes) who prefer Springsteen...but maybe it’s just the accumulation of Segue’s Bruce praise posts that made me think it Blame me To be honest, I think Petty is more accessible, but I don't think he truly comes close to Springsteen. I would trade all my Petty for The Wild, The Innocent And The E Street Shuffle alone. I feel sorry for Bruce. From the interviews I've watched, he appears to be a very unhappy man. His eyes look vacant to me. But he's a rich bitch with everything a man could buy, women, booze, drugs, women, gold cufflinks, Rolex watch, girls, women, girls, money, dollars, coke, whiskey, rum, women, girls, greenbacks, silk sheets, booze, women, wine, women and song. And he's a megastar. How could he not be happy? ... doesn't make sense ..... gimme a quarter of that ...... please!!!!! A quarter of the girls? That’d probably only give a paltry few thousand. Is that enough? I've been married 3 times..... girls, I've had a few..... but then again, too few to mention.....

  13. And introducing F. B. Grimsby Urqhart-Wright as the voice of God Oh, very nice. And how d'you get that, eh? By exploiting the workers! I was to be taken to Rome, house by the forum. Slaves. Asses' milk. As much gold as I could eat. Then, he, having his way with me had... voom! Like a rat out of an aqueduct. Well, it's totally untrue, David. Ever since I left Sicily, I've been trying to do the best for Ronalda. But for a truly magnificent waste of time you've got to go no further than the exhibit from Italy - Italian priests in custard, discussing vital matters of the day. Che cosa e lo succiacatori do polli? And now over to the European Cup at Barcelona where the latest news is that Miguel Otana, the burly Real Madrid striker, was sent off for breaking wind in the forty-third minute. Why on earth didn't you say why you wanted an adjournment? :outtahere: But it's my only line! I was just wondering. Are you a poet? Poets are both clean and warm, and most are far above the norm! My congratulations, Wilde. The whole of TRF's talking about you. :) Isn't it exciting, Blackhawk? They're doing a prize-winning documentary on me! Yes, 73 is a randy little fellow, whose primitive brain scarcely strays from the subject of you know what. Oh my goodness. I do beg your pardon. How dreadful! The first day in my new parish, I completely ... so sorry!

  20. Born in the Netherlands, Eddie Van Halen was the American Dream personified. The reason he was always smiling is because he was doing what he loved. How many of us can say the same? http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-D5rgRfEJCIw/Tjm1EMhG02I/AAAAAAAAAac/fjcKsE6WW2g/s1600/351924-eddie_van_halen_3.jpg

  22. I used to listen to this song repeatedly . It's like a lullaby. My own personal VH dream was to perform a duet of this song with Sammy. I guess I'm not the only one at this forum with broken dreams. LOL I like ballads. I'm such a girl. Here is Eddie playing the piano like a boss.

  23. I don't like that he's playing concerts right now...but generally I think Sammy is a really down to earth guy and he could not have been sweeter in this message. So good to hear from Michael Anthony as well. I can't even imagine what it must've felt like to play that song that night. If I were in their shoes, I'm not sure I could've done it.

  25. I was born five months before 2112 was released. So they were literally part of my entire life, kind of like the sun, moon, stars. Just a constant, always there, thrumming quietly just offscreen from the mainstream for all 44 years of my life... That's why I'm still dealing with his death. It's like coming home to find out that my favorite 67-yr-old tree in the front yard had been cut down. We had no notice whatsoever. Those trees are all kept equal...
