They're not really self-titled though are they, since the band is called Bluefox4000 and the Heavy Metal Wanderers??!

Oh true true. That would be more like Weezer releasing a bunch of albums named Rivers. Or a band called Rivers Cuomo and the Geek Squad releasing a bunch of albums called Weezer.

Rivers Cuomo would probably agree with you.

Coincidentally, Weezer.

I was just listening to Van Weezer in the van with my dad yesterday. Only made it about 6 songs through. I've heard a lot of less than stellar reviews, but I was really loving it. If I give it some more attention I wonder if it might become a new favorite for me. What do you think of it? Do you prefer it to OK Human?

I love Van Weezer. I'D say OK Human is much better written, but Van Weezer is more fun to listen to. It's upbeat, energetic, and perfectly cheesy. Also, the vinyl edition has two exclusive bonus tracks, including Ric Ocasek singing a verse of "I Need Some Of That".

Really! Dang... I didn't know the vinyl had extra tracks. Guess I'll need this one in my collection. I can't believe they got Ric to do a verse before he passed.

The Who.

i've spent decades being indifferent to this band. Never hated them mind you. i thought they were Just weird. like SUPER weird (Who Sell out anyone?)

And i found it very strange these guys were so worshiped. now my uncle was huge into them and has been trying for years to break down my Who mental block. even going so far as to buy me a vinyl copy of Quadraphenia. I broke his heart when i got back to him after playing it saying, "Uncle Rudy......da fukk? buddy lay off the beer!....and the weed, lol he was crushed.

but it clicked last night and i'm obsessed. now i still think the 60's stuff is odd. but 70's Who? Gimmie it!!!!!!

Uncle rudy finally wins.

Mick

Quadraphenia is a 5 star album as is Who’s Next. The rest of their discography could be best served by a compilation album for me.

Arbogast, Sabbath'esque rock music from my home town Alinge, Texas, where every single song feels as if it is about me, and the singer has probably gotten as much crap over his voice as Geddy over the years. Has turned into one of my all time favorite bands next to Rush. Now disbanded.

https://open.spotify...KnlNg3WUaHph8BH Five full length albums

A follow up band with the same singer is equally great Sundown Delay who among other things made a song about childhood hero Zeb Macahan.

https://open.spotify...RJ5vLv6NxcUjCce

Slap Back Joe, bluesrock from Alinge, Texas with my childhoods best friend's big brother, an album that nails what you feel at our age.

https://open.spotify...RgVP5G33S8hOdZZ

Andreas Carlsson & The Moonshine band, first time i ever really fallen in love with a country band

Television.

Survivor. (Their greatest hits album is a nice step back to the 80's)

Stanley Clarke.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I've been on a major Night Ranger kick last couple of weeks. Eddie's coming out tonight...he likes to rock....
