Tony R
Jack Bruce, best known as one third of Cream, has died of liver disease. In a statement issued by his family on Saturday, his family said: ““It is with great sadness that we, Jack’s family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, granddad, and all round legend. The world of music will be a poorer place without him but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts.”Bruce played bass, sang and was the principal songwriter in Cream, but even leaving aside that group, in which he played with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker, his CV reads like a comprehensive guide to the British blues boom, with spells in Alexis Korner’s Blues Inc, the Graham Bond Organisation, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers and Manfred Mann. I believe he was a total arsehole. Great bassist though and wrote most of the Cream classics.
ReRushed
Wow. I coincidentally listened to Cream last night. I know next to nothing about his personality, but I do enjoy his music. RIP

laughedatbytime
The rumors that it's a hoax appear to themselves be a hoax. Mea culpa. http://classicrock.teamrock.com/news/2014-10-25/cream-jack-bruce-dead-at-

driventotheedge
Huge loss to the music world. Cream was absolutely seminal in the 60s. Great bass player. RIP Jack.

RUSHHEAD666
Bummer! I really liked some of his solo albums. Simon Phillips plays on one of them! Simon is also on "Cities Of The Heart." A great double live album. RIP

RIP Jack Bruce I'm pretty sure that it was Bruce that Geddy Lee was referring to when he said something about meeting your heroes can be disappointing.
CygnusX-1Bk2
RIP. Saw him up close and personal a few years ago at Yoshi's in Oakland. All good musicians are assholes to some degree. Just add drugs and booze to magnify.
