Chronos
Anybody have any? No. About the only thing I don't often admit is the affinity I have for cheesy '70s pop songs- Summer Breeze, Sister Golden Hair, et. al...but mainly, about the whole idea behind this thread, I just think, why should I be embarrassed by anything I like? Love me some cheesy '70s pop songs! I've got both of those you mentioned on my iPod, that's for certain.
Segue Myles
Is being embarrassed by something the same as a guilty pleasure?; we all have them! Segue Myles
IT'S REALLY COOL TO BE A TOTO FAN!! BlueFox2000, hang tour head in shame... Coldplay were good, but the last two albums sucked (Viva...had a few classy tunes, though).
Lost In Xanadu
Why would you be embarrassed about a band or type of music you like? This thread is designed for poser hipster's who are secret Loverboy fans and who work for the weekend! I cannot hear that song without thinking about this Chris Farley skit...http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view1/3226320/chris-farley-chippendales-o.gif

Steevo
Why would you be embarrassed about a band or type of music you like? Dunno. As in, someone asks you what your favourite bands are, and you answer, but you think in your head, "Ooh, don't fancy telling him that I like Michael Jackson." - or whoever. Aye I know. Just don't get embarrassed in the least now so it's hard to answer. Perhaps when I was much younger but it's not an issue anymore. I think I've posted on here at one time or another all of the extremes I like. Usually someone with great taste like Hatchy or Earl used to chime in and share the love. That's what I cherish about this forum, not the usual immaturity one would receive elsewhere. No shame though. Thriller is a brilliant album btw. SlipknotKorn(their first two albums were great)MushroomheadStaind(again first two albums were good)Chevelle(Very underrated band) I am also still very much a fan of 80's era hair metal: SlaughterFirehouseWhite LionCinderellaSkid RowBon Jovi(80's stuff specifically)

I also do not hate the Eagles which is apparently some sort of RUSH fan requirement. Edited February 6, 2014 by thesweetscience

Segue Myles
I like the Eagles. Not great. Not bad. Not really good. Adequate? Yeah...I like them! Massive AttackThe KillersLeftfieldKate BushLady Gaga (I love quite a few of her singles immensely). All bands/artists I could imagine snobby rockers scoffing at me for liking! But hey, it seems to be a Rush fan requirement to hate on Bruce. I LOVE HIM!! So I couldn't care less! So Narpzillapet, whats ur "guilty pleasures"? You must have some dirty little music habits?!? Mr. Not
Er—... Well I'd be embarrassed if I were ever to admit to liking a band which I in fact don't. How's that for an answer?
Bastille Dave
I'd say pretty much any and all of the one hit wonders of the 70's. Not so much the bands or artists entire catalog but the hits like for example: Rupert Holmes Escape "The Pina Colada Song" , Bonnie Tyler "Total Eclipse Of The Heart", 10CC "I'm Not In Love", Ambrosia "How Much I Feel", Nilsson Shmilsson "Without You". You get the idea. Really ultra cheesy stuff but I like it.
sitboaf
I always enjoyed David Gates and Bread...... I love Bread, but I realized it's because they are the softest prog-rock band in history.
Blue J
Massive AttackKate Bush I'm with you on these. And to go along with Kate Bush, I'll say the first two Tori Amos records are really good. After that, she got a bit too weird for me. I thought of another thing yesterday, after my first post in this thread- The Civil Wars. Guys aren't 'supposed' to like them, right? That's chick music, the whole 20-something, Grey's Anatomy set, right? But I don't care. I picked up Barton Hollow in a record shop before I knew anything about all of that, and it is a fantastic record. Joy Williams' voice is like heaven, and John Paul White is tremendous as a guitar picker and singer as well- great tonality, brilliant harmonies between the two of them. It's too bad they couldn't have lasted longer.
