That album is farking huge. And I Don't Care. I love it. *humouring myself* I love Get Lucky by Daft Punk. The pre-chorus in that song is very EWF-ish. The Entire album is fantastic, as well as their other electronic work as well. I actually just picked up Discovery and Alive 2007 after only having Random Access Memories. Beyond Daft Punk's fantastic storm onto the charts, there are only the few odd songs that I like every year. Except for Owl City of course. I don't get how he doesn't chart more songs. Maybe the public can sense that he knows what he is doing and therefore cannot have too many hits. Seems to be the way good artists get treated. Well if you don't like that, they have a song of the same album called contact that after a minute of space synth and archived dialog from a space mission, just rips into soaring guitar triplets and crazy drum fills that rock hard beyond belief. The kids loved it though so it wasn't all bad. The one I actually kind of liked was that one by Selena Gomez, Come and Get It. I didn't like the rest. One I remember particularly hating was Bruno Mars's "Should have held your hand" song. How bland, cliche, and tiresome that song was. The worst part is it was everyone's favorite as if it had something new to offer. Good thing I don't listen to pop radio in my car or else I would have ran my car into a ditch to this band by now.I like the fact that Mumford and Sons are trying to bring back a rootsy bluegrass type of vibe, but everything they put out is so watered down and bland that it makes my mom's cooking seem like some Guy Fieri shit.That new song about the eye of the tiger by Katy Perry makes me want to drive an ice pick into my skull. And that wallmart or whatever commercial that its in makes my want to gouge out her eyes with my thumbs.Does Lady Gaga have anything new out? When I am subjected to the awful, mind numbing garbage on pop radio I honestly can't tell the difference between Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift (thats a total pornstar name by the way), Keisha, or whoever else is the "hot" chick singer. It all sounds the same. The only two pop chick singers I can differentiate from the pack are Adele and Pink (or is it P!nk (ugh that pisses me off btw)). At least they have more distinctive voices that really grate on me. And Pinks voice has been hurting my ears for about 15 years now.People who say "oh, you gotta give 'em credit for writing their own songs and playing their own instruments," are just kidding themselves. Yeah, a lot of people write songs and play instruments. It doesn't mean I've got to respect them more. Maybe I respect them less for writing such shitty songs. I've heard people say things like, "That Bruno Mars fella sure can sing an dance!" I'm thinkin' "well he should work on writing music that is actually interesting, because its not hard to take voice lessons."Oh yeah I almost forgot the song about the thrift store by Macklemore is just Godawful! I have to put up with the people who think he is like the hometown hero because I live in Seattle. It makes me embarrassed to live here. It sucks the fact that Seattle has such an amazingly diverse and creative hip hop scene, but the only artist to bust out and become so popular worldwide makes such uninspired crap that sounds like every other rap song on the radio. Well, maybe thats a little harsh. The thrift store song is horrible, but his other stuff that I've heard is just mediocre. Okay, I've got to stop now before I become too angry thinking about all this crap. I've only just scratched the surface here though. There's always plenty of crappy pop music to hate out there.
