I like that song for the same reason I like "2112" -- it's freaking epic. Do I love "Closer to the Heart"? Yes, I do, and I sing along at the top of my lungs whenever it's on the radio. But "Cygnus" is another one of those sci-fi epics I get so into. And let's face it, that song is downright creepy. A guy gets sucked into a black hole. How many lyricists have written about that?! But I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that I am rather partial to the song "Madrigal." The same thing goes for "Tears" from 2112. Maybe it's because I'm a romantic, but this song is so beautiful and says so much within two and a half minutes. I have always loved Rush's ballads. In vain to search for honor and in vain to search for truth But these things can still be given Your love has shown me proof Neil has a way with words, eh? It doesn't get much better than that.
